I am trying to restore my Toshiba A215 back to the way it came from the factory because I have messed with it so much that it's not worth cleaning up the install myself so I want to do a clean install of the original Vista. But for some reason when I booted from the DVD and then selected the "restoration wizard" or what ever and then it gives me the error and makes me reboot. The only things I have changed from the factory are a 2 gig stick of ram, latest bios, and latest firmware update for the DVD drive. I'm beginning to think that the DVD drive firmware may be affecting the DVD because it is not a commonly updated piece of hardware. I'm just guessing here but that might be the problem. Any thoughts? -A_DoNuT Reply With Quote 02.08.2008,17:24 Re: Satellite A215-7422 - Restore DVD gives Error "03-EEEE-0000" "Press 'OK' to reboot" #2 R2D2 View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Master Join Date Aug 2005 Posts 2,361 Hmm….. Did you downloaded and used the firmware and BIOS from the Toshiba US page? The Satellite A215-7422 belongs to the US series and therefore you should use the drivers from the Toshiba US driver page. Did you try to install the OS using the original Microsoft Windows CD? This would helps to find out if this issue could be related to the CD/DVD drive (firmware) issue or to the corrupt RAM modules. According to your message above, the new 2GB RAM module was inserted. Maybe you should remove it and should try to install the OS using the original modules which were installed

Tattoo's are stored on the DMI chip and prevent the installation of recovery disks that are not ment for that machine, Changing a hardware component like a hdd causes it, i would clone the old drive to https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?34816-Satellite-A215-7422-Restore-DVD-gives-Error-03-EEEE-0000-Press-OK-to-reboot the new one. or install windows from a windows disk, ---------- Post added 08-31-2011 at 01:32 AM ---------- Previous post was 08-30-2011 at 10:11 PM ---------- I could be wrong , after looking I found these topics with your problem http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-hardware/error-03-eeee-0000/7e4249aa-7f18-42f7-a566-28eaead3980e ---------- Post added at 01:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:32 AM ---------- From what i can gather it seems i was correct and need to update the DMI - So found you this

[h=1]Toshiba Notebook https://forum.raymond.cc/threads/toshiba-laptop-error-03-eeee-0000.29840/ PC DMI Update Utility 1.0 build 60303[/h]Check the supported notebooks to see if yours is listed, if not let me know ill see if i can find one for yours ,this DMI tool comes with the documentation. But another thing, on the Toshiba forums they say it could be ether a faulty Dvd disk or the Dmi. If to dont want to update the dmi then get hold of a copy of windows and install that, then download the drivers for that machine from toshiba

tangomouse, Aug 31, 2011 #2 danialmarshal New Member Joined: Nov 24, 2011 Messages: 1 Trophy Points: 1 Ratings: +0 / 0 / -0 DMI tattoos stored on the chip and prevent MENT this machine recovery disk to install, change the lead it like a hard drive's hardware components, and I want to clone the old to the new drive. Boot the Recovery disc and select System Recovery Options.2. Follow the prompts until you get to the menu and then select a command prompt. You have to use DOS commands to do the following: 3. Copy the \zzimages\zzimages directory for all recovery discs to a temp error 03-eeee-0000 toshiba directory on the hard drive (c:\temp).4. Change to the Bin directory on the first recovery disc and run "tosimagex /apply c:\temp\preinst.swm 1 c:\ /ref c:\temp\preinst*.swm" without the quotes.
