I'm not sure exactly when/where you are receiving the error code and under what circumstances, so I'm going to give you several Microsoft knowledge base articles that deal with Outlook Express error messages similar to this one. I send receive error also poked around in the USENET newsgroups and found several people that had the exact same error code and almost all of them had a corrupt message store file that had to be compacted or deleted and re-created before the error was fixed. From the newsgroups: "That (error) usually indicates some damage to the message store. Try clicking File/Work Offline followed by File/Folder/Compact All Folders which can often repair minor corruption to the message store. If that fails, you may need to delete folders.dbx as outlined in this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q233264 For added info, see this website: http://www.tomsterdam.com/insideOE/problems/errors.htm#foldersdbx -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express" Here are several Microsoft Technet articles dealing with OE errors and their solutions: Error Message Using Some Rules in Outlook Express http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q225096& You Receive an Error Message or Are Unable to Start Outlook Express http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q245419& Error Message If the Folders.dbx File Is Missing or Damaged http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q233264& Err Msg: "This Program Ha
are in Russian. Thursday, October 04, 2007 Errors sending emails from Outlook Express: 0x800C0131 and 0x800C013B A user complained about the following problem. When sending emails from Outlook Express he got the following error: "An unknown error has occurred. Account: '...', Server: '...', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0131" A solution was found at Microsoft KB article 233264 The result was a mixed success. The original error was gone, however, while the user's mail folders were intact, their hierarchy disappeared. This was a minor annoyance, as the user could easily recreate his folder hierarchy. However, a new error replaced the old one: "An unknown error has occurred. Account: '...', Server: '...', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C013B This was tracked down to Microsoft KB article 253795. The article advised to rename Sent Items.dbx file, which we were reluctant to do as we didn't want to loose the user's sent emails. Instead we created a new folder TempSentItems, temporarily moved all emails from Sent Items to it, then deleted Sent Items. When Outlook Express recreated Sent Items folder, we moved the saved emails from TempSentItems to it and deleted the temporary folder.
