here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3342353?tstart=0 (HC) HostCheetah 5 years ago Post 1 IP flag post 20 20LiquidLayer private msg quote post Address this userplus 1 0 This fix may also work ... I copied this from another current thread. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3075401?start=0 +I had the same problem - even though my time zone was showing correctly, I clicked it away from London and on to Barcelona.. then back to London. That corrected the error - weird but works! Thanks everyone.+ You can try this - go to Settings>General>Date and Time - and change your time zone then change it back again and see if it helps. Or go to Settings>General>International>Region Format - and click on a different http://community.hostcheetah.com/topic/159/error-1004-apple-ipad-application-updates/ region then click on the U.S. Again. 5 years ago Post 2 IP flag post 20 20LiquidLayer private msg quote post Address this userplus 1 0 Another possible fix : I noticed that I had this problem after connecting to a public wifi hotspot at my local Chick-fil-a. Once I connected to their network, it requested my email address and then "connected" me to the internet after submitting the form. I used the internet while eating lunch and all was fine. I tried to download an app that evening after having connected to my home wifi and started receiving this error. I reset my settings (Settings=>Reset=>Reset All Settings) and the problem went away. I can only assume that since the iPad keeps all the network connections i've made in a config, that it remembers the Chick-fil-a connection and that buggered up the wireless config for other wifi connections somehow. Apparently Apple has been dealing with this issue for years across many of its products. So it begs the question: Has anyone else noticed this behavior after connecting to a public hotspot? If so, we may finally have something helpful to report Apple. I am going to test this theory again today to see if it holds any water. 5 years ago Post 3 IP flag post 20 20LiquidLayer private msg qu
am Posted in iPhone, Technology, That's Life Tagged App Store, Error 1004, Error 1004 please try again later, iPad, iPhone, iTunes By all accounts, from googling the experiences of others, issues from clock time to full memory can trigger the iPhone and iPad App Store "Error 1004 please try again later". I was simply trying https://slapphappe.wordpress.com/2011/09/27/app-store-error-1004-please-try-again-later-on-iphone-and-ipad/ to update my installed apps. The problem hit me simultaneously on iPhone and iPad -- which is https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-fix-itunes-errors-1002-1004-1013-1014-1015/ a hint that the problem is server side. No amount of waiting to try again later made a difference. Not resetting the time. Nor restarting my iPhone/iPad. Nor rebooting my iPhone/iPad. Nor deleting a couple of videos to recover memory (even though I wasn't short on available RAM to start with). Nor even switching between 3G and WiFi, thereby excluding router issues. For me the solution was different and error 1004 simple. I needed to sign out of my iTunes/App Store account and back in again … Settings>Store 1. Click on your Apple ID 2. Sign Out 1. Sign in 2. Use Existing Apple ID 1. Enter your iTunes email (username) and password 2. Click Ok Restore your settings -- or make new choices. I was able to do this by error 1004 app making sure that my automatic downloads was on, on my app section. I didnt even have to log out. Not sure thAt this will work for all but it worked for me. I must also mention that I previously downloaded an app on my iPhone and then when trying to download it on my iPad I would get the error from the app store 1004. After turning on the automatic sync on my iPad and then trying to redownload the app from the store it worked. Thanks slapphappe Posted September 28, 2011 at 8:59 am Permalink Reply Thanks for adding your experience Mateo. I had not seen your solution -- of ensuring that automatic app downloads was enabled -- amongst the many I googled. Just goes to show how wide the Error 1004 net is cast -- which is to say, not very helpful. Looking back on my screen shots, I did have automatic app downloads enabled on my iPhone when the problem hit me. I can't remember how I had it set for my iPad. Perhaps somebody can try switching that attribute off and on again to see if it clears the Error 1004 -- without having to logoff and then logon to their iTunes/App Store account again. It would be neat if we could nail this for others who get frustrated by it … Arvind Singh Posted October 7, 2011 at 2:52 pm Permalink Reply thanks a lot, it did work for me as well….I had to just log out and log in back and the
deal but what bugs is that the whole thing takes a lot of trial and error to fix. These days, you don't have to worry about bricking your iPhone (at least, the threat is considerably less). When you're dealing with restore of a normal, non-jailbroken iPhone, it's even easier. We dealt with the very common error 3194 and wrote on how to fix that earlier. Then there was also a discussion on dealing with errors 16xx. We now take a look at the other side of iTunes errors: 1002/1004/1013/1014/1015. There errors usually occur due to two main reasons; one, you are trying to restore to a firmware that Apple has stopped signing or two, iTunes doesn't like your USB port. You'd probably be surprised at the number of people who got rid of these errors just by changing the USB port or trying from another Mac / Win. Let's take a closer look at the possible ways to fix these iTunes errors. Fixing iTunes Error 1002 This error is most common when you are trying to downgrade. Usually, downgrades are not easily possible these days because of the problems with signing. Apple doesn't want its users to downgrade (it's one way up). With Cydia and saved SHSH blobs, downgrades are made possible in a slightly complicated way (using Redsn0w's custom IPSW function and Saurik's servers). If you're trying to downgrade and you get this error, you should: Put your iPhone in DFU. (Here is a quick guide to enter your iPhone into DFU mode) Use Redsn0w to create a custom IPSW file of the iOS you are trying to install Navigate to /etc/ (on Mac) or C:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc/ (on Win) and open the "hosts" file in Notepad (Administrator Mode for Windows). Add the following line to the bottom of the file: 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com Now, save the file and then try restoring the iPhone to the custom IPSW file created. If the hosts file edit method doesn't work, you can try using TinyUmbrella. When trying to restore, open TinyUmbrella and then click on Start TSS Server. And then try restore. Hopefully, these methods should work to fix iTunes Error 1002. Fixing iTunes Error 1004 / 1013 / 1014 / 1015 Interestingly, although the appearance of these iTunes errors are not that frequent, it's still a pain to fix them. One of the main reasons is that Apple doesn't really give much about these errors. The 1004, 1013, 1014 and 1015 errors are usually attributed to a poor connection. This means: either your USB port isn't working good or the cable isn't working fine. In very rare cases, this is a issue with the dock in iPhone. The first t
