Device trouble, error-105 Started by Huw_1 , Sep 18 2002 08:07 AM Please log in to reply 2 replies to this error 105 wow topic #1 Huw_1 Huw_1 Occasional Forum Poster Members 29 posts Posted 18 September 2002 - 08:07 AM I error 105 steam cannot backup because I'm told there is a "Device trouble: "Name of my CD", error-105 (unexpected end of data)". In the Immediate Backup window everything is correct, error 105 unable to find installation languages the Source, the Destination, and the Preview tells me that I need to copy 1 file. Under Configure>Devices it states my CD is in fact a CD, as opposed to a zip disk or whatever, and everything seems to be the same as on the error 105 err_name_not_resolved other CDs I have that I CAN backup. Of course, the error-105 is not stated in the trouble shooting section of the Help menu. It mentions errors-102 and 107 but skips the one I want. Isn't it always the way?? Has anybody got any ideas what's wrong? Huw_1 Occasional Forum Poster Members 29 posts Posted 24 September 2002 - 10:34 AM I've cured the problem by doing a Recycle backup, like you mentioned in a previous question that I asked. I don't know whether the problem was caused by the fact that I am reusing CDs, so the files on them, created by Easy CD Creator, had to be erased first, which I did using that application. I couldn't find out how to erase them using Express. On every CD that I used for Express, non of them blank, after I had created a backup and then removed the CD, when I put it back in again Express would not recognise it as one of my existing backup CDs. I could see what was on it, and Restore, but I couldn't backup untill I did a Recycle backup. Now it recognises them every time. The question is, will I have to do a Recycle backup after using a blank CD? I'll be back if I do. Is it during the ODBC portion of the installation? What happens if you use a UNC mapping to the setup? Does that have any effect? 12-30-2002 9:13 PM In reply to jschexna Joined on 11-05-2001 Posts 2,92
