I have an acer aspire laptop (not quite 6mths old) & this past week I cannot get online at all....every single time I try I get error 105 re: dns server /dns lookup failed. I'm so frustrated as I've tried so many things from ipconfig release/renew/resetting winsock & dns flush, etc. to deleting my internet connection settings & putting them in again...I am a selfemployed contractor & I NEED to access my laptop to work... please please help asap!! i've been on this laptop day & night all weekend trying to fix this! My desktop connection works fine & the WII is connecting (wirelessly) to the internet fine as well...it's only my laptop. (I'm running windows 7 by the way) bslocombe View Public Profile Find all posts by bslocombe #2 August 8th, 2011, 06:34 AM smurfy Cyber Tech Help Moderator Join Date: Sep 2000 O/S: Linux Location: Christchurch New Zealand Posts: 9,408 Hi and welcome - I've closed your multiple threads on the same topic. Lets get some info: 1) Is the laptop connecting via wireless or wired? 2) Is the desktop wired or wireless? 3) Is the Desktop Win 7 also? Have you compared ipconfig /all between desktop and laptop? Try disabling whichever connection is unused on the laptop (if it's using wireless, disable the wired NIC or vice versa) and reboot. smurfy View Public Profile Visit smurfy's homepage!
