Scvmm Error 12700 Migration
I have been having a consistant issue during P2V conversions. If I have the converted placed on my Win 2008 R2 system (also running SCVMM) I get the following error could not be realized due to errors in its configuration file which could not be resolved. message and recommendation: Error (12700) VMM cannot complete the Hyper-V operation on the VirtualMgt.amrinc-corp.local server because of the error: 'testV' could not initialize. (Virtual machine ID 03D6F613-71C2-4E2B-A72E-0832902B00CA) (Unknown error (0x8000)) Recommended Action Resolve the issue in Hyper-V and then try the operation again. These P2V conversions were win2000 SP4 with SP4 Rollup applied. I have done 3 of these with the operation not allowed for virtual machine because hyper-v state is yet to be initialized exact same ending error message. Now the interesting think is if I tell VMM to place the P2V conversion on my old Virtual Serverrunning on Win2003R2 it works just fine accept for Virtual Machine Integration. Any idea what might be causing this issue? Hyper-V services are not started (e.g. stopped due to an exception) Marked as answer by Carmen SummersMicrosoft employee Tuesday, September 27, 2011 6:38 PM Tuesday, June 07, 2011 9:27 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Please check http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/virtualmachinemgrp2vv2v/thread/946ab8b7-40c5-401b-ad8e-ec804d341b43Mohamed Fawzi | http://fawzi.wordpress.com Tuesday, May 10, 2011 1:32 PM Reply | Quote Moderator 0 Sign in to vote Thanks for the post but the question at that link has no resolution to the issue Friday, May 13, 2011 3:51 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote If the VHD copy completes, what happens
first step was to migrate from the cluster to a non-cluster server using

SCVMM. The process went very well and the machine was successfully migrated between both hosts...Then I decide to do the other way around... When the process was at 49% it crashes with the following error:Error (12700)VMM cannot complete the Hyper-V operation on the hv01srv.domain.tld server because of the error:Import failed because the https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/71aae7dc-13b5-46f1-b794-cc1b8085541f/error-12700-vmm-cannot-complete-the-hyperv-operation-on-the-could-not-initialize-virtual?forum=virtualmachinemgrp2vv2v virtual machine must have a new identifier. Select a new identifier and try the import again.(Unknown error (0x8005))Recommended ActionResolve the issue in Hyper-V and then try the operation again.Additionally you get the EVENTID 18070 on the host where you perform the operation:Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS-AdminSource: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMSDate:Event ID: 18070Task Category: NoneLevel: ErrorKeywords:User: SYSTEMComputer: hv01srv.domain.tldDescription: http://eniackb.blogspot.com/2009/06/hyper-v-scvmm-error-12700-0x8005.html Import failed because the virtual machine must have a new identifier. Select a new identifier and try the import again.GREAT!!!!Before telling you how to solve this, let me tell you that you can always rollback the migration process by right-clicking in the VM and choose repair and then select the Undo option and press OK. So don't panic!!!This problem occurred because when I did the migration from the HV Cluster to the Non-HV server, the file {GUIG}.xml) that identifies the VM was not deleted from cluster node. The file is in the "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V\Virtual Machines\{GUIG}.xml"Note: By default the ProgramData Folder is hidden, to view this folder you must activate the option "Show hidden folders and files" under folders option menu.Solution:To solve this error, delete the duplicated file in the destination server (if you're in a cluster configuration you may need to check all the nodes before retry the migration). How do I know the file to delete?S
user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. (0x80070569). (Solved) Posted on 17/03/2013 by Asaf Nakash Posted in Hyper-V, System Center, Virtualization, VMM, Windows 2012 We've got this error while creating a new VM guest using SCVMM http://www.dario.co.il/?p=873 2012 sp1: Error (12700) VMM cannot complete the host operation on the server because of the error: The operation failed. The Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service encountered an unexpected error: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. (0x80070569). Unknown error (0x8000) Recommended Action Resolve the host issue and then try the operation again. We found the the reason for this is that we had GPO that set error 12700 the right for "logon as service", on Hyper-v 2012 we need to add the "NT Virtual Machine\Virtual Machine" user to this logon right. in order to do so perform the following steps on the Hyper-V host machine: Logon as a Domain Administrator Install the Group Policy Management feature from the Server Manager console After installation, open the GPMC MMC snap-in and browse to the policy that manages User Rights Edit the policy to include NT Virtual Machine\Virtual Machines in the entries for Log error 12700 vmm on as a Service Close the policy editor and initiate a gpupdate /force on the Hyper-V host computer to refresh policy. (You may need to wait several minutes for Active Directory replication to occur). remove the Group Policy Management feature from the Server Manager console. to read more about this error follow this Microsoft KB article « SCVMM 2012 SP1 Can't create virtual machines and receiving an error: a required privilege is not held by the client (Solved) SCOM 2012 GW 20070 Error: The OpsMgr Connector connected to SCOM2012, but the connection was closed immediately (Solved) » You must log in to post a comment.
