"strHtmlFoot = ""'setup start of body of messagestrMsgBody = "The following Item(s) are recently overdue or are due to be returned in less than 3 days"'Worksheet nameWith objExcel.Workbooks("Tracking.xlsx").Worksheets("Inventory") 'set start of date range Set rngStart = .Range("E2") 'find end of date range Set rngEnd = .Range("E" & CStr(objExcel.Application.Rows.Count)).End(-4162) 'loop through all used cells in column E For Each rngCell In .Range(rngStart, rngEnd) 'if date is less than 1 day from today and not more than 3 days in the future then add data to message'THE BELOW LINE IS THE HIGHLIGHTED LINE WITH THE ERROR If (rngCell.Value - Int(from the db when something is done. I have the outlook reference and it works fine if I do siplay and let the user send, but I want it to be automated with no user input. When it gets to the .send portion of the code, it errors out. Here is my code:!--c1-->CODEPublic Sub EmailFile(strTo As String, strSubject As String, strBody)On Error GoTo MyErrDim OutApp As Outlook.ApplicationDim OutMail As Outlook.MailItem'Dim objOutlookRecip As Outlook.Recipient' Create the Outlook session.Set OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")Set OutMail = OutApp.CreateItem(olMailItem)With OutMail'.Recipients.Add (strTo).To = strTo.Subject = strSubject.Body = strBody'.Display.SendEnd WithSet OutMail = NothingSet OutApp = NothingMyErr:MsgBox "Error: " & Err.Description, "Sending Email Error"Exit SubEnd SubAnd ideas why I am getting a type mismatch error on the send portion? Thank YouChester CyberCow Jun 7 2013, 08:44 AM Have you tried setting the strBody parameter to a string?strBody as Stringhope this helps cpopham Jun 7 2013, 08:51 AM I missed that, but when I corrected it, I am still getting the error. I must have read through the code 50 times and missed that variable call out not being set to string. Thank You on that catch, but it is still giving a mismatch. This is frustrating becuase it works fine if I do a display and not send, but when I do I send it errors out. ipisors Jun 7 2013, 09:06 AM it definitely makes sense that you'd get an error on a Send vs. Display. You can Display pretty much anything, no matter how erroneous it might be (i.e. you could make the To address the word "spaghetti" and it would still display, but obviously, would not Send). S, another thing. You forgot to put Exit Sub prior to your error handling routine.....This means your error handler will always fire! (even if there is no error). This might make diagnosing anything pretty tough...Can you provide the code you're using to actually call this routine? cpopham Jun 7 2013, 09:57 AM Ok thanks and here is what I have calling itCODEPrivate Sub FileRevReq_AfterUpdate()Dim strTo As StringDim strSubject As StringDim strBody As Stringnbsp; strTo = "ccpopham@gmail.com" strSubject = "File: " & strFileNum & " has been returned to you" strBody = "Pleasesee the files notes for any issues on the subject file." Call EmailFile(strTo, strSubject, strBody)E
