Furthermore it takes ages to update the macro every time I put it running (the macro has to run about 9000 rows). The error is in the between ** **. You should validate the fields before you assume they are numbers and try to subtract from them. Also, you should enable Option Strict so you are forced to

I'm developing a pretty complex MS Access database with a VB6 front end and one thing that I need to do in the front end is to pull up and display the file directory for time error 13 an existing folder on either the host PC or on a shared drive on our server. After rooting around I settled on using a FileSystemObject routine as the simplest approach. I opened up a brand new VB6 project to test the routine out, and the following subroutine works perfectly, displaying the list of all files in the specified folder in a list box. Code: Public Sub GetFolderFileList() Dim oFileSystem As New FileSystemObject Dim oFolder As Folder Dim oCurrentFile As File Dim oFileColl As Files Set oFolder = oFileSystem.GetFolder("d:\data\bradfb\Desktop\CR Disposition\") Set oFileColl = oFolder.Files If oFileColl.Count > 0 Then With lstFiles For Each oCurrentFile In oFileColl .AddItem oCurrentFile.Name Next .ListIndex = 0 End With End If Set oFileSystem = Nothing Set oFolder = Nothing Set oFileColl = Nothing Set oCurrentFile = Nothing End Sub Now, here's the catch!! When I paste this WORKING SUBROUTINE into my database front end, it give me a "Run-time Error 13 Type Mismatch" on the Set oFolder = oFileSystem.GetFolder line of code. I've confirmed (and re-confirmed!!) that I have a reference set to the Microsoft Scripting Runtime and tried most everything else that I can think of, all with no success. Can anyone help me?? You click on the save icon in hopes of saving your work, when your greeted with the dreaded “runtime error 13”. If you’re on a Windows based computer, then you should already know how common runtime errors are. These errors are the result of a plethora of factors, but the most common reasons being conflicts, conflicts between the Windows operating system and an application. There are quite a number of these runtime errors that unfortunately affect a considerable amount of computer users out there. Runtime error 13 is just one of a great many. The runtime error 13 is basically a mismatch error, which occurs whenever you have a number of missing processes or files that are required to execute a function of an application built on Visual Basic. This particular error occurs more frequently in Microsoft Excel, when users attempt to click on a menu function or a macro. However these mismatch errors are not limited exclusively to Microsoft Excel, as all programs that are/were developed with Visual Basic are susceptible to it. The bottom-line is, when the values within a property field or variable of an applications code, fail to match, then the likelihood of you receiving the runtime error message is heightened. These errors are almost exclusively the result of a programming fault and not necessarily a problem with the configuration of your computer system. What Causes These Errors? The runtime errors occur when an application is running, hence the word “runtime”, this means it will only occur when attempting to run an application or use a specific function within that application. As was mentioned earlier, mismatch errors are typically the catalyst. However, the mismatch within the programs code can be the result of a number of things such as.
