Solution 2: Manually edit the permissions In Windows Explorer, find the parent folder of your QuickBooks Desktop installation. For example, QuickBooks defaults to C:\Program Files\Intuit as its install folder, so the parent folder would be C:\Program Files. Right-click the folder and select Properties. Click the Security tab and select the SYSTEM user located in the Group or user names section. Select the Allow checkbox for Full Control in the Permissions for SYSTEM section. Select the Everyone group located in the Group or user names section. Select the Allow checkbox for Full Control in the Permissions for Everyone section.
