Error 1402 Office 2010
"Error 1406: setup cannot write the value to the registry key" MSO '10 Hi, I'm trying to install Microsoft Office 2010 but when it is installing I get the message "Error 1406: setup cannot write the value to the registry http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_install-mso_other/error1406-setup-cannot-write-the-value-class-to/2f25c64d-03e8-4e66-a447-abdbe22655a1 key." I've tried everything to fix it. I've cleaned my registry and uninstalled all traces of Microsoft Office I already had on my computer. Yet I'm still getting this error. After 4 hours of trying to fix it I'm getting pretty confused as what it could be causing this problem. I am an administrator on this computer, I've trying installing Office as an Admin and that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. If I get this working, I'll report back! Summary: How to fix the installation Error 1406 (Cannot write the value to the registry key…) Related Installation Help: Troubleshooting Rhino 5 Installation Problem A message “Error 1406. Cannot write the value to the registry key \Software\Classes\CLSID\{(lots of letters and numbers)}\LocalServer32. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact you support personnel. (1406)” Cause HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{lots of letters and numbers} does not exist and writing the registry key is blocked by antivirus protection. Answer Disable your antivirus protection and try to install Rhino 5 again. The settings in some antivirus applications are pretty complicated. If you don't know how to disable your antivirus protection completely, you can remove the antivirus application before installing Rhino 5. Reinstall the antivirus application after Rhino 5 has been installed successfully. Note: This problem only happens on a Windows that has never had Rhino 5 installed. Those registry keys don't exist and the antivirus application blocks Rhino 5 installer from writing the registry keys. If a Windows had Rhino 5 installed previously, even though it has been uninstalled, those registry keys still exist. Rhino 5 or the SR installer won't try to write those registry keys again and antivirus protection won't cause the problem. rhino5installationerror en rhino/error1406.txt · Last modified: 2016/01/29 by sandy Page Tools Show pagesourceOld revisionsBack to top © 1997-2016McNeel • North America • Europe • Latin America • Asia
