I recently had cause to uninstall my copy of Office 2007 (Vista Home Premium) On reinstalling I got an 'error 1406 -setup cannot write the value to the registry key'..... The were 4 keys SketchObj.SketchInk, SketchObj.SketchInk.1, HWXInk.E-Ink and HWXInk.E-Ink.1 I continued the install by ignoring these errors and everything seems to be working OK. Those of you who Know me, know I wouldn't leave this issue alone, so having read loads of reasons for this type of error (1406) on the web (but none specifically for the ones I have !) I have tried every type of option to remedy this problem. As I said at the start, there doesn't appear to be any prob;ems with my Office Apps ... Guess all I want to really know ...
