Could not access network location \IDR\Data." Cause The above failure occurs on systems that were previously upgraded from another version of Backup Exec. The issue is caused by the Microsoft's Installer (MSI) database listing multiple installations of Backup Exec, which causes the 2010 installer to default to the older version of Backup Exec when looking for the upgrade files. Solution Change the following registry key to match the version of Backup Exec which you are currently upgrading from:Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. Then i followed instruction on manually remove BE from machine. (by registry and data folders). Next problem was the SQL instance that coudn't be removed, also overcome that problem (sd delete..). Delete all data folders (program files, appdata etc) 2.) In register, delete all keys with SYMANTEC, BACKUPEXEC, MSSQL$BKUPEXEC 3.) With admin DOS prompt delete all services related to BE (also the sql BE part) (sc delete command) 4.) Uninstall SQL server (only if nothing else on database) 5.) REBOOT 6.)
