(sic)when I try to upgrade Acrobat Reader I've tried all the fixes i.e. deleting registry refs to Office 8.0 and 9.0, checking User Shell Folders and Common Administrative Tools (as recommended by Microsoft) but none works. Also I've no idea what location ":." refers to. Apart from disabling Windows Installer (to stop it popping up randomly) I cannot update my Adobe Reader software. Any miracle workers out there? I've tried all of the MSoft recommendations. I tried to uninstall my current Reader version today (to replace with the latest version) but I can't even uninstall it - I get the same Error 1606.
