Fix AS3-Flex Error #2032 Stream Error By Michael Dobekidis | May 3, 2014 - 10:41 | May 5, 2014 actionscript, adobe air, flex, flex 4, workaround Recently I encountered an error #2032 within a two error #2032 stream error flash year project in Flex, for three days I struggled with it and tried almost

everything, this is why I'm posting this here so that it might save someone else time. This error occurred when I error 2032 rte player tried to do an HTTPService call to the Back-End and send some really heavy file. The file would require Back-End parsing and when that was over it would return a result. However mid-way the POST https://forums.adobe.com/thread/766762 call would be interupted and I was presented with a #2032 Stream Error fault. The solution was both simple and extremely hidden and in my opinion stupid. In the HTTPService I had set the property: this.requestTimeout = 3800; However as shown in this post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8820715/flex-httpservice-times-out-anyway This property is NOT taken into consideration by the HTTPService. It needs: import flash.net.URLRequestDefaults; URLRequestDefaults.idleTimeout = 1200000; // or any amount of time in http://nightlycoding.com/index.php/2014/05/tip-as3-flex-error-2032-stream-error/ ms This way we override the default timeout of EVERY call and thus the request no longer fails… I truly hope this helps someone as the above post helped me. I'm having the same problem, but it looks like flash.net.URLRequestDefaults is for AIR projects only. In fact, the flash.net package I have in a .swc does not even have the URLRequestDefaults class. I'm wondering if there's a non-AIR workaround. Michael Dobekidis says: July 31, 2014 at 19:22 No this was an Air project. This error is quite common and can occur for a number of reasons. You can find many solutions on the net, I just documented one that wasn't anywhere else. From my experience I would say that this type of error is mostly related to the termination of a connection between a client and a server, the reason however will probably vary. February 15, 2007 monkeypunch3 Error #2032: Stream Error. This is the most read post on this site. After reading this please post your comments to help future visitors. Causes: This error appears to occur when the url or file is blocked or not found by HTTPService call. For me, this error appeared when I had typed in the incorrect url in the HTTPService url property. Specifying the correct URL fixed it. To check this you can check your URL for typos or try to access the URL outside of your app to make sure it is there. Use Service Capture, Charles or Firebug to inspect the response from the server. If the file is not found the server still sends a response back (html or xhtml (xml)). Note: Additional tips and use cases are mentioned in the comments. This error is also caused by a swf trying to access a file across a restricted domain. It's not going to get the file if it is not allowed to access it. This behavior then generates the error. The fix in is to add a cross-domain policy file to the domain where the page is located at. The cross-domain file must specify that your domain (or any other domains) can access that URL. You can also use a proxy on your server to get the file (I have heard that there are issues with this approach with caching in certain situations). Another cause for this error in certain browsers is caching. Use JabbyPanda's technique to prevent caching in IE6 or set the response headers in your server side page to prevent caching. A note from Mike Chambers: If you run into this using UR
