If it does, change that to Windows. –Joakim Koed May 8 at 9:01 You appear to somehow have been using legacy grub, which has been deprecated since Ubuntu 9.10, rather than grub2. –psusi May 8 at 13:01 Possible duplicate of How to remove Ubuntu and put Windows back on? –psusi May 8 at 13:01 I've tried Harddrive sanitizer, and it seem i have broken more things. Here's a bit of my situation... I have a Dell XPS 430 that came with Windows Vista and error 22 a Win7 upgrade disk. I set up my main hairddrive with Win7 on one partition, Linux on another partition, and a third partition for storage. I recently needed more space for Windows, and no longer needed Linux, so using the Win7 disk manager I deleted the Linux partition and extended the Win partition using the newly unallocated space. Upon restarting my machine, I am no longer able to boot into windows, but instead am presented with the message: GRUB Loading, please wait... grub error 22 Error 22 I have a Win7 disk that I am using to access the repair utility, which I have run countless times. I have tried severel of the tutorials to rebuild BCD and FixMBR, etc etc. Frankly I am getting lost in all the commands and not even sure what does what anymore! Help please??? (amateur): started with Vista. swopped to ubuntu. decided to swop back... so I used recovery dvd that came with laptop, then driver disc, now it says "GRUB loading stage 1.5. GRUB loading, please wait...error 22." cant get past this page. any thoughts? x (please note: i changed to ubuntu under pressure from friend, big linux fan, who did it all for me. so i dont actually have any disks of ubuntu. Though i do have vista and original recovery disks.) Reports: · Posted 6 years ago Top vistamike Posts: 10945 This post has been reported. You will have to format the drive to get rid of the grub loader, you should get that option when you reinstall vista. There seems to remnants of ubuntu on the HDD. You won't need the ubuntu disk. Any probs, post back Mike Reports: · Posted 6 years ago Top Topic Closed This topic has been closed to new replies.
