For example, if the parent setup is created with InstallShield Professional 7.00, and it launches a child install created with InstallShield Professional 7.01or InstallShield DevStudio, this is a mismatch of install engine versions. The error occurs because the 7.01 child setup is trying to update engine files that are locked by the parent 7.00 setup. A parent setup cannot launch a child setup that is created with a later version of InstallShield Professional because some engine files that need to be updated by the child setup are locked by the parent setup. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solution The parent setup must be created and built with the same or later version of the InstallShield Engine, as the child. An existing parent setup should be upgraded and rebuilt in the same or later version of InstallShield Professional or InstallShield DevStudio as the child setup. _______________________ Above is the exact error I get when trying to install the game. The error is a programming screwup and has nothing to do with anyones machine. Could we not just download an "inf" file that would install the game? Does Edios have or plan to use another installer for
two setup program, one is made by me, one get from others. When I installed the first setup program(let's call it A) and then immediate call another setup program(let's call it B), the installshield would prompt a Error -5003 : 0x20. And then if i rerun the B setup program, there would be no problems. And if I wait two seconds after the A's installation, and run the B there also would not be any error! So I guess this error may be cause by the following reason: when the A's installation has finished, the install shield still in the progress of http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=30499 releasing some resource, so at this time , if i run the B, the installshield can not get some important resource, then it prompt the error. I think it's not a big deal. But my QA do not think so :( , So could any one help to solve this problem? Thank you very much.
