Bad Gateway (Error 502) on Single Server Configuration Started by Peter Carabillo , 01 netscaler 502 error June 2006 - 02:37 PM Login to Reply 12 replies to this topic Peter Carabillo Members #1 Peter Carabillo 1 posts Posted 01 June 2006 - 02:37 PM I have configured a Windows 2003 Standard Server with CAE 1.0 in single server (access) mode. After installed the SSL certificate, remote clients receive a "Bad Gateway" Error 502 - The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. Per KB articlehttp://support.citrix.com/article/CTX108577&searchID=20719155 this indicates something in CAE thinks its deployed in a gateway configuration, not a single server configuration. However when I go back to Quick Start, the Access window confirms that I've set it in single server mode.Any help would be greatly appreciated.P.C. 1334-77342-485243 Back to top Kenneth Bell Citrix Employees #2 Kenneth Bell

Error 502 Bad Gateway after renewing the SSL Certificate Started by Joshua Glass , 04 February 2011 - 11:58 PM Login to Reply 4 replies to this topic Joshua Glass Members http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/281673-error-502-bad-gateway-after-renewing-the-ssl-certificate/ #1 Joshua Glass 6 posts Posted 04 February 2011 - 11:58 PM HelloI am running Xen App Fundamentals 2.0 on a Windows Server 2003 box, i havn't had any problems like thsi before, when I went to renew my SSL cert this time around my provider said that they have switched to 2048 encryption and no longer support 1024, so I can not generate a new SSL from the QuickStart Tool. I installed the new Certificate manually, SSL is valid and works, but I now get this error that says "Error 502 Bad Gateway" when you try to access the external portal. It was working before I renewed the SSL, it just said that the SSL was expired and no content could be run. Microsoft OS, Operating Systems, Virtual Machine, Windows 2008 Server // 0 Comments Today, one of our client was getting the below Citrix error when users http://www.cloudmedy.com/citrix-error-502-bad-gateway/2013/06/ are trying to access their applications using the browser. Error 502 Bad Gateway The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the http://support.fra.ctx.org.cn/ctx121279.citrix request GET/Citrix/MetaFrame/auth/login.aspx Reason: Error reading from remote server If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Looking at the Event Logs of the server, there wasn't much error 502 useful errors on the server. We then ran the "Secure Gateway Diagnostics" test on the gateway server and saw some connection issues. There were a "red X" on the WI and the Authorized servers connections. Ping tests to and from those servers showed up fine. We were getting replied from it. Since no one can connect into the Citrix environment at all, we citrix access essentials went ahead and restarted the Secure Gateway server and also the Web Interface server (in this environment, both roles are installed on the same server). Once the server is rebooted and up, we ran the "Secure Gateway Diagnostics" test again. This time all connections are showing a "green check" on them. We did a local test and browsed into the Citrix portal URL and the site loaded up and we were able to log into it. We then did an external URL test with users. Instead of getting the "Bad Gateway 502 error" page, they are getting a "Page Not Found" page. It is a strange problem. We reviewed all network and server changes for this client, and also checked firewall rules to see if traffic are blocked but found none. Our last option was to redo the configuration settings for the server. Once we went through the "Secure Gateway Configuration Wizard" (with all the same settings as previously), ALL connections were starting to work again. Afterward, we have reviewed some monitoring logs and it showed that the HTTPS protocol on this server was dropping or
