was to turn the printer off. Now, when I switch it on, I get an error 52 when it's warming up. Do I really need to buy new parts (if at all possible)? Please help hp laser printer error codes anyone... Respond to this 0 The 52 error points to the scanner assembly. If you heard

a noise, that probably means the scanner motor has failed. The scanner motor is what makes the whining sound when the printer warms up 52.00 error hp printer or starts to print. If you don't hear it or the 52 is a solid failure, you'll need to replace the laser scanner assembly. by david belton on Oct 13, 2003 at 7:27am Add comment Please sign in to http://www.advancedlaser-hp-error-codes.com/error_52.htm comment 0 Thanks. I think I do hear the motor when I switch on the printer. Still it doesn't print, it says "warming up", then "error 52", than "warming up" again etc. Now this may sound a bit ignorant, but still: replacing the laser scanner assembly, is that something I can do myself? I'm not exactly a technician, you see. by unknown on Oct 13, 2003 at 7:53am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 REplacing it http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/13287 is fairly simple, its a mattter of getting hold of a scanner assembly unit. Perhaps someone has a second hand one from a spare parts machine they can let you have?Ian by unknown on Oct 14, 2003 at 4:34am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have also seen this problem being the DC Controller which supplies the power to the scannerMany cheap parts are available on this model by unknown on Oct 14, 2003 at 9:44am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Hmm.. I have no idea where to look for parts. Any ideas, anyone, please? I tried Ebay but no luck. And I'm in The Netherlands... by unknown on Oct 17, 2003 at 8:46am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I am having the same problem and currently have my printer disassembled. You can actually order the scanner assembly unit at www.hp.com......even in The Netherlands. The price is not listed for The Netherlands, but HP is offering the part in the US for $65 plus S&H. By the way, HP lists the part number as RG1-1771-000CN - Scanner Motor Assembly. You will also find diagrams so that you can locate the part while your printer is disassembled. I found it difficult to locate using only the HP diagram, so I also found a great picture of the scanner assembly at All Laser Service (http://www.all-laser.com/error52.html). This com

Join Now I'm a little peeved that our next replacement option for the P2055's are these odd HP LaserJet 400's (M401DN) with a pop-up screen. First off, the screen is just unnecessary (or at least the pop-up variety), but that's not my problem. I opened a brand new box for one of our users and after I removed all the orange shipping bits, I plug it in and go for the configuration page. The motor whirrs, then BLOOP! Up pops a message on the friendly screen: "52 Scanner Error" - Everything I look up online says "your scanner motor is not working, probably needs a replacement." When I look in the manual, the expected error codes you will experience start at 49, 50, 51, 53, 54...why no 52? THIS IS NOT A MFP, there is NO scanner. I performed a firmware update, to no avail. Same error. This comes up every time I attempt to print any configuration reports...or anything relating to actually printing a page. WUT. Anyone else deal with this? We have a number of these that will be deployed to our new facility, so I'm not excited to work with them firsthand in any larger capacity. I'd be tempted to try a firmware update -- maybe it got the MFP firmware somehow, and sending it the "you are only a printer, you dolt" firmware will help? 0 Thai
