Try resetting the odbc driver path in the autoexec.bat file as it should be, and then rebooting the system so that the new setting is activated. If the above does not fix the problem, then you probably need to uninstall and reinstall the Oracle ODBC Instant Client as discussed in the following link for Oracle 10 Instant Client release notes (the same thing should apply to your version of Oracle ODBC Instant Client). http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/oci/instantclient/releasenotes/ODBC_IC_ReleaseNotes.html 0 Write Comment First Name Please enter a first name Last Name Please enter a last name Email We will never share this with anyone. I did https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/25013414/Oracle-ODBC-Driver-Error-cannot-load-resource-file-sqresus-dll.html as directed. You say I don't need ORACLE_HOME got it, but do I need TNS_NAMES added as a variable or am I good? I'm going out to update and restart now. I'll post my results here in a minute. No it's not required. You could put the tnsnames.ora file in the instantclient folder i.e. same as where PATH points. If you want to use local naming that is. If you use Easy connect naming instead, you might do without tnsnames.ora. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 17. Re: Oracle 8 client in Windows 7 64-bit 980333 Dec 20, 2012 7:20 PM (in response to 980333) I also checked my "Path" to make sure that the directory string was first as well as exactly case sensitive to the actual path. I checked the registry for the Oracle ODBC driver in the Wow6432Node and it to is exactly what it should be (pointing to the correct folder for the sqora32.dll and sqoras32.dll files. I entered the commands on the command line as you indicated. There has to be something else I'm missing. Again Windows 7 64 bit and I'm using the 32-bit download from OTN. I've unzipped both the "Basic" and "ODBC" files in the same folder as a subfolder in my C:\oracle file locatio

Report message to a moderator Re: ODBC error on Windows 95 [message #100036 is a reply to message #99910] Tue, 25 June 2002 12:06 Mike Bailey Messages: 1Registered: June 2002 Junior Member I had a similar problem that occurred when the following events took place: Launch MS Access and open a dummy database such as db1 or Northwind. In the Tables Tab, choose File-Get External Data-Link Tables (from the File menu). In the Files of Type drop down box, choose ODBC. In the Data Source selection, go to the Machine Data Source tab. At that time I chose to link to "Sandbox", a database we use for a project. The following error would come up. ORACLE ODBC DRIVER Error: Cannot load resource file sqresus.dll The process used to work until the user of the PC installed a piece of software called Clementine. On a hunch, I checked the autoexec.bat file (this was a Win98 PC) and sure enough, Clementine had altered the PATH statement. I don't know what (if anything) Clementine deleted out, but she added herself into the PATH. I still didn't know what changes to make to fix the problem, so I went to GOOGLE (God bless GOOGLE) and found this discussion. I tried the following fixes: Copy the sqresus.dll file from the c:Orawin95bin directory to the c:WindowsSystem directory. Then try the above procedure. I received the following error. OCI.DLL - One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found. I decided I would have to mess with the PATH statement. I backed up the autoexec.bat file in case I really butchered it, and then I made sure that c:Orawin95bin and c:Program FilesOraclejre1.1.7bin were the first 2 items in the PATH and the CLASSPATH statements. Then I rebooted (or else the changes do not take effect in Win95/Win98) and EVERYTHING WORKED!!! Thanks for your
