I'd installed the liveupgrade packages from sol10u8, which give constant errors and apparently don't work with sol8 (looove all these undocumented strings of errors). So, used lofiadm to mount the sol10u5 iso, installed IT'S SUNWluu and lur packages. Now I get yet another new error root@plato /backup # luupgrade -c -s /sol10u5 The media is a standard Solaris media. The media contains an operating system upgrade image. The system has the required patches 121430, and Live upgrade was updated from the install media sol-10-u10-ga2-sparc-dvd.iso The following boot environments were created solenv1 and solenv2 with the lucreate command and this completed sucessfully. Mounting miniroot at ERROR: Unable to mount boot environment <>. Live Upgrade uses /a as a https://groups.google.com/d/topic/comp.unix.solaris/EdHJBqAtVw8 temporary mount point and directory for some of its actions. Check /a to make sure it is empty in error cannot the current BE and the new BE. # cd /a # ls file1 # rm file1 # / # lumount NEWBE /mnt # cd /mnt/a # ls file1 # rm file1 # cd / # luumount NEWBE error cannot mount After that try again. You can also delete your NEWBE , recreate it. Clean up /a and try agian.
