The problem is I try to connect the oracle database with oci_connect(). But I got this error : Fatal error: Call to undefined function oci_connect() in C:\Program Files http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9354971/php-oci-connect-error (x86)\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\testoci.php on line 6 here is my code : ini_set ("display_errors", "1"); error_reporting(E_ALL); $link = oci_connect('USER', 'PASSWORD', 'localhost'); if(!$link){ $e = oci_error(); trigger_error(htmlentities($e["message"], ENT_QUOTES), E_USER_ERROR); }
the first thing that I though is the extension of php_oci8.dll. But I've open the comment of php_oci8.dll in php.ini file. And then, I've restart my apache service. So, did I miss something? Really need help.. Thanks before. php oracle oci share|improve this question edited Sep 25 '14 at 2:35 amo 1,75611835 asked Feb 20 '12 at 0:59 Bobby Stenly 6452819 1 Have you installed the oci8 drivers (that includes the function oci_connect())? –Jack Maney Feb 20 '12 at 1:07 I think I haven't installed it yet.. Wait a moment, I'll install it and tell you how it's going... Sorry, I'm a newbie, especially for the oracle.. :( –Bobby Stenly Feb 20 '12 at 1:22 I've installed it, and when I test it with sqlplus, it's success. But, I still get the same error when I tried oci_connect.. I think i need to restart the comput

But my problem is that the error doesn't show in the page. Even if error handling I put $e = oci_error(); it will not be executed anymore to show the error. I tried try/catch but it didn't work either. When I change the connection details to connect to another database it works. The connection details I use do work in SQL Developer. $db='(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = '. $GLOBALS['HOST']. ')(PORT = '. $GLOBALS['PORT'] .')) ) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = '. $GLOBALS['SID'] . ') ) )'; echo '
USERNAME: *'. $GLOBALS['USERNAME'] .'*'; echo call to undefined '
PASSWORD: *'. $GLOBALS['PASSWORD'] .'*'; echo '

First I check what Oracle version I'm using: select * from v$version where banner like 'Oracle%'; Output: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production After this I downloaded new Oracle Instant Client version Version 11.2.0.3.0 and set it to PATH and restarted server. Then it worked! share|improve this answer answered Jan 27 '15 at 9:52 Jemru 57871937 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
