There is no other indication as to what the metric is. However I have also found that the the database does not autostart although all the Oracle services are set to automatic. Is anyone able to help me please? Both Oracle dba Forums and Oracle Technology Forums offered a few resolutions to the dbconsole java.lang.exception: no such metric error: At least one variant of this problem can be solved by: 1. unlocking the DBSNMP account (if locked) 2. restarting the dbconsole app\ After selecting the database from the Databases Tab, select the "Monitoring Configuration" button from the Related Links. Then, in this page, fill in the correct password for DBSNMP (the Monitor User Name). After the test connection is successful, submit the update. there also appears to be a similar symptom when the timezone is changed on the server. If this is the case then you need to set oracle_sid=SID emctl resetTZ agent follow instructions on screen and then restart dbconsole I tested the connection through 'Monitoring Configuration' under 'Related Links' which worked and the problem was resolved.
