Sometimes statistics can help http://www.fixya.com/support/t2328691-fix_error_message_ordinal answer those questions. When it comes to applied statistics, students shouldn’t just learn a vast array of formula—they need to learn the basic concepts of statistics as solutions to particular problems. Peter Galderisi demonstrates that statistics are a summary of how to answer the problem: learn the math but only after learning the concepts and methodological considerations https://books.google.com/books?id=h8IqBwAAQBAJ&pg=PA334&lpg=PA334&dq=error+ordinal+266&source=bl&ots=102v7BkD2_&sig=MAjvfUYh6A2GqOIIM0nx0rjYo7I&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwijivm3-dHPAhXq5IMKHeq8C_0Q6AEINTAD that give it context. With this as a starting point, Understanding Political Science Statistics asks students to consider how to address a research problem conceptually before being led to the appropriate formula. Throughout, Galderisi looks at problems through a lens of "observations and expectations," which can be applied to myriad statistical techniques, both descriptive and inferential. This approach links the answers researchers get from their individual data analysis to the research designs and questions from which these analyses are derived. By emphasizing the underlying logic of statistical analysis for greater understanding and drawing on applications and examples from political science (including law), the book illustrates how students can apply statistical concepts and techniques in their own research, in future coursework, and simply as an informed consumer of numbers in public discourse. The following features help students master the material: Legal and Methodological sidebars highlight key concepts and provide applied examples on law, politics, and methodology; End-of-chapter exercises allow students to test their mastery of the basic concepts and tech

Ran my program under debug mode and it runs fine. Changed to Release mode, recompiled all and tried to run. Immediately I get the error message Ordinal 139 could not be located in swscale-2.dll Using same dlls for both runs [well, I copied them over from Debug folder to Release folder. Twice] as when I ran in error ordinal 266 Debug mode. Any clues? This one has me stumped. so i am comparing the property pages between debug and release. both have multi-theaded debug set (c++/code geneeration) release mode has Liner Optimization references set to Yes /OPT:REF whereas debug has nothing; ==> set it to NO and did not get the error message re Ordinal 39 not found. c++ visual-studio-2010 ffmpeg share|improve this question edited Feb 18 '13 at 17:41 Brad Larson♦ 150k36333499 asked Feb 16 '13 at 22:13 JPM 1101112 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote It can hardly be anything different from use of wrong files. If you build them yourself, make sure that: you use the correct DLL and LIB files produced by FFmpeg build your application loads the correct DLLs, e.g. not the ones located in \Windows\system32 installed by third party software You can also use Dependency Walker to identify mismatches and to check whether the swscale.dll you are trying to use really have the exported function in question. share|improve this answer answered Feb 18 '13 at 17:17 Roman R. 47.9k34178 as i explained the Debug and Release versions use the same lib and same dlls. so it was something else. –JPM Feb 19 '13 at 1:13 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote the suggestion of different lib and dlls was wrong. the suggestion to recompile the libraries is wrong because essentially ffmpeg uses some L
