Error Ordinal 58
library ldap.dll CQ; ordinal; 58; Ordinal Not Found; 1269573 Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) This technote explains how to resolve some dll conflicts that can occur with IBM Rational ClearQuest. Symptom Attempts to start the ClearQuest client results in the following error: clearquest.exe - Ordinal Not Found
The ordinal 58 could not be located in the dynamic link library ldap.dll. Cause There is a dynamic link library (DLL) conflict occurring with different versions of ldap.dll. Resolving the problem To resolve the .dll conflict: Search your files and folders for the ldap.dll file. ClearQuest registers the updated version it needs in the *\Rational\Common directory. Rename any ldap.dll files found that are not in the *\Rational\Common directory. If there are more than one ldap.dll file in the *\Rational\Common directory, remove the older ldap.dll files. From the \Rational\ClearQuest directory, double-click on the file rereg.bat, which will re-register the necessary ClearQuest dlls. Try updating to Service Pack 3, since .NET 4 isn't supported on anything lower than that. share|improve this answer answered Aug 3 '11 at 17:01 Ray 5992714 This answer is wrong. Windows XP SP2 will take .NET 4 just fine if you use the offline installer. –Joshua Aug 3 '11 at 18:45 This answer is not wrong. According to the link XP SP3 is indeed the only supported version of XP for .NET 4. It may work on SP2, but that doesn't mean it's supported on SP2. –Joel Mueller Aug 3 '11 at 20:02 It wasn't wrong when .NET 4 first came out. What happened is SP2 itself is no longer supported. –Joshua Jan 29 '12 at 2:50 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote It looks to me like your Windows installation is corrupted. msi.dll is used for installing things in general. You could try installing/reinstalling the latest version of "Windows Installer." share|improve this answer answered Aug 3 '11 at 17:02 Jacob 1569 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Sounds like your Windows Installer Service is not up to date. Make sure you install all the system updates. And as @Ray commented, it's best to start with SP3 - it may already contain what you n
