Undefined Error, command Get Rollin Hill Dec 21, 2013 9:05 AM I am on Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.5 and the person sending me a document or trying to read one I send in also on 11.0.5. I am running on Windows 7, 64 bit. Some, but not all documents that are scanned and saved as a PDF file will not

open on the other person's system. The open results in two pages with the first blank and the second showing: ERROR: undefinedOFFENDING COMMAND: getSTACK:/quit-dictionary--markI have serached the web and have not found any solution. I checked the document security on one that was sent to me that fails and it shows "no secuity". I do not recal ever having this until I went to the Acrobat 11 level. Since I can no longer expect a PDF file to be usable by the person I send it to or for one sent to me to be readable, I am back to having to fax document or scan them as jpegs for sending. I get the same error trying to open the document under Acrobat Pro or Reader.Checked a set of PDF files where one opens and others have the error. The one that opens shows as having password security while the two that fail show as having no security. I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 4618Views Categories: Windows Tags: none (add) error_undefineC

Postscript, the technology behind PDFs, is a programming language in its own right. But unless you are a programmer who understands Postscript, that will do little to help troubleshoot the error. I would say that something happened when the PDF was being created, some odd transformation that the Postscript driver had a hard time understanding, either because the complexity of the effect or there could have been a bug in the driver that created the PDF, that is in turn causing the printer driver to have a hard time. One workaround that sometimes works is, in Acrobat, go to the Advanced settings in the Print window and select "Print as image." Either way, you will have to troubleshoot your original document (if you can) to see if there is something odd you can clean up before making another PDF. share|improve thi

Make sure you have the most current drivers installed, then try again. If that does not work, try printing on another printer. 0 error undefined offending Cayenne OP Mike6051 Aug 24, 2012 at 11:57 UTC this link may help you track it down. http://www.prepressure.com/postscript/troubleshooting/errors/undefined But it doesn't look like it has listed a valid command "jcv'q4uh" so you might have some trial and error to fix it. It could be just something simple like print the pdf in 3 or 4 pages at a time rather then just print, because it is running out of memory trying to hold all the info. Could also be a font not downloading correctly, or corrupted when it embedded. Try to print the page it is offended by , by itself, see if you still get the errror. It could also be the content on the page itself that the printer is cliching on. Many things to look at. Trial and error. 0 Anaheim OP Chris2095 Aug 27, 2012 at 7:22 UTC Printing a few at a time seems ok, just impractical as this particular print job requires thousands. I printed ten and 2 were bad. Sometimes it can go 100 or 200 with only a couple bad ones. 0 Poblano
Forum [closed] PDF writer problems - help please! 16 posts & 11 voices | Started 6 years ago by ahwiles | Latest reply from UnderTheWood Tags: No tags yet. ahwiles - Member hello. i am trying to use Cute pdf to convert a document to PDF. i have used this before, without problems. but occasionally, which increased to frequently, and now every sodding time, i get a few pages converted, then a blank page, then an error report printed in the document that says: error - stack underflow offending command - stack. wtf?! please help, people's lives are at stake. of all the things in the universe, i am only capable of truly hating computers. Posted 6 years ago # spacemonkey - Member What are you creating the document in, e.g. Word, Excel, etc? Which version? Posted 6 years ago # The Flying Ox - Member 1) Download and install OpenOffice. 2) Open document. 3) Go to file menu and choose "Export as PDF". Posted 6 years ago # Mounty_73 - Member I use; http://www.primopdf.com/ Posted 6 years ago # ahwiles - Member Ox - i can't do that, i'm using a 'controlled document' - created in Word, which means the quality office at work will cut my balls off if i start using openoffice. (it's not just as simple as 'open with swriter - export to pdf, i'd need to re-jig the formatting, which is a no-no with controlled documents) but thanks for trying! what i find incredibly frustrating is that it worked fine last week, no problems whatsoever. Posted 6 years ago # sharkbait - Member (it's not just as simple as 'open with swriter - export to pdf, i'd need to re-jig the formatting, which is a no-no with controlled documents) Although I don't know what a controlled document is exactly (and am willing to be educated), it is actually that simple - why should you need to re-jig the formatting? But, you may also want to look at Primo PDF which is a free PDF writer - been using it for yars and it's great. Worth a try if you're still stuck. Posted 6 years ago # ahwiles - Member because when i open my word document in open office, it's gone all screwy - all the images have been overlaid in one box, all the text has been squeezed into one box, fonts and sizes have changed - that sort of thing. this particular controlled document is an inspection report; i measured something, someone wants to read abo
