6 months ago I use an ethernet cable from my modem to connect the PS3 for the internet. I have been doing this for 6-7 months with no problem, but

not the PS3 says "ethernet cable is not connected." My modem works fine and I have used another ethernet cable to connect but no go. I even reset the default settings. The PS3 can also pick up wireless access points in the area. Is the ethernet port fried or something?:( d_anoMember Since: December 23, 2005Posts: 2522d_anoFollowForum Posts: 2522Followed by: 0Reviews: 21 ps3 ethernet cable not connected fix Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#2 Posted by d_ano (2522 posts) - 4 years, 6 months agoare you able to connect to the internet using the same cable with a laptop? if you can then its a problem with the ps3. restarting the ps3 might help? I even configured to connect online and it worked great, I even posted in one of my forums from my PS3... but the next day, the PS3 wouldnt even read my cable. Tests wont work, and neither will configurations or system updates... I had it working before and now, it's kaput.. I've unplugged and plugged it in a hundred times and even turned off the power of the modem so it would reset... nothing, it's like the port is not reading my cable.Anyways, as you can see me online typing this, it means that my connection is good and it works =p. Any ideas whats up?I hate the ""An ethernet cable is not connected!"" Make sure you've not plugged the PS3 into the uplink/ADSL port. Get a new cable. Or try using wireless and seeing if that works. Check the colour order of the wires on each end of the cable, if they're in a different order you have a crossed wire cable. Either that or you've bent the cable too much and it doesn't work now. Or you're a retard and have plugged the cable into your ass instead of the ps3 seasidebaz 5 Dec 2008 10:31:54 7,295 posts Seen 7 hours ago Registered 10 years ago AFAIK the ethernet port in the PS3 is auto-switc
