I am trying to install the Exchange System Management Tools on a Windows 2003 Server in a network where there is already an Exchange server. The installation process stops begins to set registry entries and send the following error. Setup failed while installing sub-component Exchange System Management Snap-ins whit error code 0xC103798A Watching the "Exchange Server Setup Progress.log" can be seen that the process begins to fail when attempting to register a dll: The command regsvr32.exe-s maildsmx.dll failed, returning error code 3 (The system can not find the path specified.). - ID: 31136 - ScCreateProcess (f: \ titanium \ admin \ src \ libs \ exsetup \ hiddenw1.cxx: 1821) Error code 0XC103798A (31114): An internal component has failed. Try to register the dll by hand but I can, also give me the same error: file not found!! Try to uninstall IIS and reinstall ISS and the Tools, but neither works. The need to install Exchange System Management Tools is because I am intalling BackupAssist with support for backup individuales mailboxes, in this remote server, for this to work is not enough to have registered esebcli2.dll, it is also necessary to install the ESMT and exmerge. Now appreciate if anyone has any suggestions to resolve this error

At my place of work, we are in the process of migrating from Exchange 5.5 to 2003. On most desktops for users that support https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21632866/Error-Code-0xC103798A-When-attempting-to-install-Exchange-System-Management-2003-on-Windows-XP-SP2-Desktop.html Exchange 5.5 Mailboxes, they have Exchange Admin installed. Now that we will be maintaining the boxes on 2003, I will need to be able to maintain mailboxes from ADUD with the Exchange 2003 snap-in. The first thing I tried was registering the 4 dll's: address.dll, escprint.dll, exchmem.dll, and maildsmx.dll I received the following error for address/escprint/exchmem: address.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file can not be registered. For maildsmx.dll I received: LoadLibrary("maildsmx.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found. After searching online about this, it seems this does not always work anyway (for adding the snap-in to ADUD) so I figured I would just try to install ESM off the Exchange 2003 setup. I did the following: Installed Windows 2003 Service Pack 1 Administration Tools Pack (note this is the only adminpack on the machine) Installed IIS in Windows XP SP2 Ran the setup.exe for Exchange 2003 located in the 'i386' folder and chose Custom and to only install ESM. During installation, I get the error: "Setup failed while installing sub-component Exchange System Management Snap-ins with error code 0xC103798A (please consult the installation logs for a detailed description). I am installing Exchange 2003 server on Windows 2003 Server. But during the install it fails with error: exchange system "Setup failed while installing sub-component Exchnage System Management Snap-ins with error code 0x0C103798A (Please consult the installation logs for a detailed description). You may cancel the installation ot try the failed step again." Netdiag, DC diag - has no errors or failures Ran ForestPrep and DomainPrep - no errors exchange system management during install Did research and found MS KB 887723 but that sounds irrelevant as the setup failes during the install and in this artcle seems the changes are recommended in Exchange Interface. Any help on this will be highly appreciated.
