I have an Asus Eee pc 901 laptop running on Windows XP. When I power it up I get the following error message popping up: lsass.exe - System Error Insufficent system resources exist to complete the API. The only option available is to click OK, which reboots and ends up back at the same error. I've tried starting in safe mode, but that leads to the same error. Windows XP Professional is the only option available in the "select operating system" screen. I've also tried booting from "Last Known Good Configuration" which also brought me to the same error. Most of the solutions I've found online are scuppered by one of the above points, or by the fac

It was working just fine a month ago. So I moved http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/468908/xp-not-booting-up-lsassexe-system-error/ from out of town a month ago, and when I turned the PC in my new place, the PC gave a loud noise from the fan (?) so I decided to turn it off; it wasn't doing anything /going anywhere. The PC was not dropped; I carried that in my car to avoid to keep from moving about. I turned teh PC http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/topic/135153-lsassexe-insufficient-system-resources-exist-to-complete-api/ again after a few seconds, the noise now lasted less than a second, then all seemed OK. Within a few seconds, the PC gave a "drive 0 not found" message and did not complete the boot (stayed in the DOS window with the DOS drive error message). After rebooting several times, I had to get creative (know some PC stuff) and started to look into the setup parameters (using the F2 key). I changed a few parameters (mainly which drives were to be used to boot), semi-randomly but with some understanding / logic behind the changes, and all of the sudden the PC was working again. I backed/copied most of the files on an external hard drive just in case. I had to turn off the PC because I had placed it on the floor of my bedroom and wanted to move it to my desk which was full of papers and stuff; remember, I just moved from out of town. I thought everything would be OK since I had managed to boot the PC just fine, but now the PC gave me another nightmare probl

If your keyboard is not working then close the black command prompt window and then press CTRL + ALT + DEL (This worked for me in bringing up the task manager.) CLick on File then New Task. Type Explorer.exe and then click OK. This should bring up your desktop. Check to see how much space you have available on drive C:\ (Clients system only had 1mb available, whi

Yesterday I realised I was out of space on the C: drive (6MB I think) and was planning to delete/move files to free up space tonight. However after switching it on today it comes up with the lsass.exe system error - 'insufficient system resources exist to complete the API'. It only offers the choice of OK and when you click this it restarts and comes up with the same error again, and you can repeat this forever! Please can someone help with this as I have no idea what to do or what could be causing the problem. Thanks, Andy andyj941, Sep 21, 2007 #1 Sponsor happyrck Joined: Feb 17, 2006 Messages: 3,202 have you tried booting into safe mode...if you can...use safe mode to clear out some of the junk...burn stuff you need to keep to dc/dvd's or a external hard drive... you can clear out about a half gig of "trash" using ccleaner To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool... CCleaner Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar....if you get the slim version it does not have the toolbar thats the one I recommend... It will put a shortcut on your Desktop. Before first use... Select Options then Advanced. UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours" The rest of the standard settings are fine... Click on CCleaner to start it. Then click "Run Cleaner" DO NOT USE ANY OF THE OTHER TOOLS...RUNNING THEM MAY CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS turn off indexing... 1. Open up "My Computer" 2. Right-click on your hard drive (usually "C:") and choose "Properties" 3. Un
