If instead you have things you need to try and preserve in it, you should copy all the .dbx files from the mail Storage folder for that account to a backup folder and then delete the account and create it anew. Then you can use the OE tool for importing the old .dbx files into the new account. I would suggest doing it one at a time and testing as you go to see if one of them causes the problem again. One of them may not import if it's badly corrupted. In that case you can get a DBX reader freeware and possibly retrieve the messages but that will only allow viewing or printing them, not import
