:: Show Polls :: Message Navigator E-mail to friend Fatal NI connect error 12638, connecting to: [message #622825] Sun, 31 August 2014 09:08 ashussain Messages: 31Registered: March 2011 Location: Saudi Arabia Member Hi Recently tns-12638: credential retrieval failed we have changed our Oracle Database 11g (Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 on Windows sqlnet.authentication_services= (nts) Server 2008 Enterprise Edition) to a new server. Accordingly we have modified the configuration settings of the applications (third party) ora-609 to point to the new database. The application services were started and all options were seems to be working fine. But one of the application is showing system exception error and closes the

connection. This is occurring regularly. Then we used to restart that application service and then start the application itself which allows user to work for some time. We contacted the application (third party) support, they advised setting SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME parameter to 1 may resolve the issue.
