Now I'm not sure when it started, but for the past few weeks, whenever support personnel access the Spiceworks dashboard a few seconds later the browser will freeze, then display the message: A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script? If you click "Yes" to abort, the dashboard goes back to normal, except for no ad window on the right, and the environment charts don't display any data. Each time you go back to the dashboard, or refresh the page, the error returns. Other pages in Spiceworks appear fine. I've tried removing and reinstalling Flash 10, using Firefox, using IE 8, and reinstalling JAVA, to no avail. I would think it's my particular config to blame, but other users are encountering the same error. Is Spiceworks (running 4.5 BTW) having a problem with Flash 10? The error would popup in IE, Firefox and Chrome, and it seemed to happen when the Environment Chart widget was trying to display. I always have the error chart displayed on my dashboard, and I remembered that I had bogus records in the event table in the past that made the error chart appear funky. So I used the SQLite Manager in Firefox to open my Spiceworks database, and sure enough there was a record dated with the year 2033! I deleted the bad record, and the chart is back to normal, and the Flash 10 error has stopped popping up. I hope this is useful for anyone else who has the Flash 10 error. 0 OP Jonathan (Spiceworks) Dec 18, 2009 at 9:44 UTC Yea, we tried to add a feature to inform you of event errors in the distant future, but it disrupted the space-time continuum causing a Flash script error 1 Sonora OP Ergonomic Dec 18, 2009 at 2:13 UTC Was the snarky response to a legitimate support question really necessary? 0 OP Jonathan (Spiceworks) Dec 18, 2009 at 2:19 UTC I apologize, I didn't mean for it to be snarky. just found it strange to have a record dated 2033. We appreciate you posting your solution 0 Poblano OP Chris3829 Jan 5, 2010 at 1:43 UT
