Vz Fuel Gauge Error Wont Start
also posted this in the Engine Tech section. My battery died over the weekend, so I replaced it and now I have this "Fuel Gauge Error:Contact vz commodore fuel gauge problems Dealer" popping up. The car still runs fine. My traction control is also staying off now and my coolant temp gauge is staying at Cold. Anybody else have this happen or have a suggestion on how to fix this? __________________ 2005 vy commodore fuel gauge error contact retailer GTO Black/Black-A4 1 of 553 Gone but will not be forgotten blkgoat05 View Public Profile Find More Posts by blkgoat05 Remove Advertisements Sponsored Links LS1GTO.com Advertisement 06-18-2007, 11:28 AM #2 Locke Registered User 2006 GTO Owner Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: New Smyrna Beach Posts: 187 Offline check your fuses, or it might just reset itself, have had the fuel gauge error but that was after jacking up the rear Locke View Public Profile Find More Posts by

I tried to unhook my battery for 15 seconds to reset the ECM, but that did not work either. Anybody have any suggestions on this before I take it to the dealership. blkgoat05 View Public Profile Find More Posts by blkgoat05 11-28-2008, 02:37 PM #4 flipGTO potatoes gonna potate. 2004 GTO Owner Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Augusta, GA Posts: 1,855 Offline ok, got this problem now. also, the airbag light is on. i just redid my sub hookup. on my headunit. i dont have the brown mute wires connected. i keep reading about pulling the fuse for the bcm. where is that exactly or do 04s not have that? __________________ 04/a4 extended new era intake replaced with Svede Intake Monaro front conversion w/ Kyne Splitter Last edited by flipGTO; 11-28-2008 at 03:17 PM. flipGTO View Public Profile Visit flipGTO's homepage! On the weekend whilst I was driving my 2006 WM Statesman i had a message come up on the console saying "contact your dealer" plus "anti skid off" or some message like that.... with a big annoying cross !! I felt a bit of a "slip" or change in the rear wheel power after which I noticed that the auto seemed to be in a single gear e.g. 2nd gear (or possibly not past 3rd gear). Fortunately I was not far from home. When I got home turning the car off and on again made no difference ... i.e. the message and cross was still there. The next morning the "contact your dealer" and annoying cross was gone - an engine alarm indicator light was still on though. Driving the car around the block was fine. The next time I got in the car the engine alarm indicator light had also gone - the car has been OK since. This same thing happened over 6 months ago - the mechanics could not find anything except asking for money (for doing nothing !) and "resetting" an alarm. Not sure what to do... what if this had happened when I was out on a long trip in the country ?? I have RACV cover but I do not think this would cover this. Was thinking today if I had disconnected the battery to the car would this have "reset" the pain in the arse alarm and gear issue? I have a gut feeling this may have been a "get home" mode to cover or resolve some issue with the anti skid detectors? Anyway I am asking around to see if others have had this experience and further to this what advice others may have here for this problem I have experienced. Reading around the error messages on the ECU could be a pointer to the problem, battery (still has the original) ??? and a head unit software upgrade might be an idea as well ?? vess33021-02-2011, 10:59 PMI guess you could get a dealer to read the stored fault codes. ??????? BlackCalaisVVE22-02-2011, 02:13 PMThis has happened to me a few times, contact dealer comes up and for me it dropped the fuel gauge to empty. The car seemed to drive pretty normal after that though. Turning the car on or off sometimes fixed the issue but not always and sometimes I would be driving long and it wo
