Minorly embarrassing. I followed Amazons advice on how to update your book. The link to the help page I used is here: https://kdp.amazon.com/self-publishing/help?topicId=A1KIW2CNWB4717 After attempting to upload my book, I got this error message: "An unexpected error occurred. Our apologies; we've been notified and will look into it as soon as we can. Please try again in a few minutes. " I tried again google play and of course, it didn't work. Did I break something? Is my book still on Amazon? How do I update it? cdalebrittain Posts: 8,563 Registered: 03/05/11 Re: Updating my book, error message Posted: Apr 15, 2013 5:04 PM in response to: Jack Anleitner Reply Your book should still be on Amazon. On the Bookshelf, under Actions, click "see this book int the US (or UK etc.) store." I'm assuming you made the corrections in Word, saved in html like you did google play books the first time, went into edit details on the Bookshelf, and did the "upload" like you did before. This is all you have to do besides previewing. (Oh, and remember to save & publish on the second page.) If anytime you get an error message, it means your computer and Amazon's aren't talking. Sometimes, as they say, waiting a few minutes and trying again will do the trick. If the problem persists for more than a day, try a different browser. Internet Explorer seems glitchy. Some people love Chrome. Some hate it and love Firefox. I've always had good luck with Safari for Mac. jtbigtoad Posts: 9,272 Registered: 08/01/10 Re: Updating my book, error message Posted: Apr 15, 2013 5:15 PM in response to: Jack Anleitner Reply Once again, I'm on my cell phone so expect me to Michael this message. Sometimes when the KTP bookshelf is being horsey, you can upload a nonsensical file to it. Just upload any sort of Word file or JPEG -- Just anything that is completely different from the file that you are uploading. This will tend to knock loose the server problems. Used to could upload a JPEG, But the shelf by not accept that anymore stick to a Word file or a text file.
