Therefore, in making the translation to English, the translators often had to make their best GUESS as to where to insert the punctuation marks. Maybe that'll be helpful to you. There are only some slight things in the Greek New Testament that could have been done another way. For instance in John 3:16 the author used the word "eternal life", but the thing is we cannot get eternal life - eternity has no beginning and no end, but our lives do have a beginning, and then the afterlife. So a more correct word might be the word "everlasting". HOWEVER the author could mean eternal life in heaven, indicating we wont have, "day one" in heaven, it will be like we were always there.
