I have been a lurker around here for a while but need the help and wisdom of regular contributors if possible. I have had an website written in classic asp whihc has been running smoothly for a number of years. Yesterday I moved it to a new host and it stopped working. Specifically there is an admin section which connects to an MS access db in which is stored relevant data when I select any given option whihc requires the creation, deletion or amendment to a record held in the bd it throws a http 500 internal server error. I haev spoken with the host who have custom error pages and they wont delete them so I can see the error. I did mange to see part of the fault as I went through the site preview in my plesk control panel. The error was generated right after the select sql statement. I feel this is a permission issue, if someone "in the know" can cast their eye over the code and see if there is anything obvious I would appreciate it as my hosting staff are lost and are just fobbing me off. I cant do anything as I have no control and dont know what they are doing. The code on the relevant asp page is below. Data is being pased form the serving page correctly ( i can post more if reqd) Global asa hold relevant connection strings: ' Create Objects Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") ' Open Connection conn.Provider = "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" conn.Properties("Jet OLEDB:Database Password") = Application("strDBPwd") conn.Open Application("strConn") ' Main Process Response.Clear byteCount = Request.TotalBytes RequestBin = Request.BinaryRead(byteCount) Set UploadRequest = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary") BuildUpload(RequestBin) vAction = UploadRequest.Item("state").Item("Value") ' Fetch Boolean values from UploadRequest Dim bNew,bOffer,bBC,bCand,bEarth,bEnamel,bAcc Dim bGlass,bMW,bPor,bSW 'New Pattern If IsObject

You are right. I thought about it a little more and redirecting to a web page in a web site is a little weird. I have a web site that we built, but I now need to be able to preload information into the web site by a third-party application using a web service. I need to be able to 1. Programmatically log into the website (the website uses forms authentication) and load an XML file into the website via a web service. This should be easy a simple web service that says (and secured usi

First line in the ASP is Response.Buffer=true
The reason for the error message I found stated that the global.asa was in the process of being recompiled? Pressing refresh caused the asp to work correctly.

IE: parts.asp?sku=543 From there it looks up the sku in a database and outputs the part information. Currently if you put in an invalid sku that is not in my database, you just get a Internal server error. Whats the correct way to give a 404? Do I just do a Response.Redirect to my 404.asp page if the recordset is empty?
