Last time I got those errors, the CMOS battery (tucked in by the RAM sticks) was dead. Those codes have to do with the time and date not persisting (because the battery hasn't the power to maintain them). Try a new battery (tape the wires on your old one to a new cell from Radio Shack) and see if the problem goes away.Rob _________________T61p 8891-CTO TP600 2645-45u (Upgraded to PII-400) Top Profile Reply with quote ieee488 Post subject: Re: Thinkpad 600X Error 161 &163, hangs at blinking cursor (_)PostPosted: Tue Jan 27, 2009 1:31 pm Offline Sophomore Member Joined: Sat Jul 26, 2008 2:37 pm Posts: 144 Location: Newark, NJ I'd definitely try a new CMOS battery first.I tried the removing tabs from old battery and electrical taping them to a new battery, but it

Merci d'avance.
