What does this mean? laramie.kelley Jul 20, 2009 8:41 PM When I try to connect to a wireless Linksys router, My Intel Proset/wireless application wants me to make a profile for the router. I get all the way through (note: the router has no security, so I don't do anything on that page) I get an error that reads: "an internal database error occurred when updating/saving this profile." When I go to the wireless event viewer to look at the error, it says "The database is current used by another application or thread." I can't connect to the internet wirelessly, and I have no idea what these errors mean. Is there anything I can do, or am I screwed? 12650Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Now I'm using Windows to manage my wireless, so at least I have web access. Right click on the intel proset icon in your tray and select Use Windows to manage wi-fi. If someone out there knows, I would like a solution that allows me to use the Intel ProSet as it provides a stronger and more consistent wireless signal strength than with Windows. Windows keeps dropping the connection and closes my VPN client. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Internal Database Error. What does this mean? RancherRick May 5, 2010 12:49 PM (in response to susans) I have the exact same problem that Kelly posted last year. I am using a Netgear Router, which I can connect to wirelessly just fine with my netbook. However, with my Dell laptop, my wireless connection to the Router (using INTEL PRO/Wireless 3945ABG) has been sporadic at best. Yesterday, when it would not connect at all, I updated the driver (PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility) from 10.1.0.3 to 12.4.4.0. When I am trying to "Create Profile" (as no profiles are in the list), I get an ERROR message "An internal database error occured when saving/updating the profile." The only choice in this dialog box is an OK button. I cannot figure out any way around the error. I hope that someone can help point me in a direction to solve this problem.Thank you (in advance) Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: Internal Database Error. What does this mean? Sn

Advertisement irishpiccolo Thread Starter Joined: Jun 5, 2010 Messages: 7 I turned on my computer this morning as normal and checked my mail. read four emails and clicked on the fifth [from twilightanonymous.com] when suddenly nothing would load. Got a message saying couldn't connect to the intel proset internet. So, went to repair my connection only to find that my saved profile wasn't there anymore. it was showing in found wireless connections though so i clicked to connect and said it couldn't contact. checked the modem, turned on the laptop i'm on at the moment [where the shift key rarely works hence bad grammar] and that worked fine intel proset wireless - but still can't connect on my laptop. When I try to connect to our own wireless, it asks for the Wireless Security Password, i enter it. Then it opens a new screen 'General settings' so there's profile name / wireless network name so both those are automaticaly filled in. Click next and enter the password again. It then says @the wireless settings have been configured for this wireless network. click ok to connect to this wireless network@ When i click ok it says 'an internal database error occurred when saving/updating the profile' I have tried System restore but it doesn't offer me a date to restore to earlier than today. As I said earlier, the profile has been removed from saved profiles [not by me] and there are none other there. and dell support aren't open on saturdays. so, i'm a bit stuck :/ Any advice so honestly appreciated - this is a bit urgent for me irishpiccolo, Jun 5, 2010 #1 Sponsor etaf Wayne Moderator Joined: Oct 2, 2003 Messages: 60,944 Try this - let
