Starbuck, I tried to install the printer again, with the same results and error messages. I then disabled the 'Interactive Services Detection' service, restarted, and tried to install the printer one more time. The
Malwarebytes
install ended up freezing around the same time I usually receive the error message. I had to leave so I left it alone for a couple of hours and it was still frozen and unresponsive when I got back. I had to close it out using 'task manager'. I haven't contacted HP about the problem for a couple of reasons. One, I saw others say that when they contacted them they were told (whether true or not) it was a problem on Microsoft's end and that they couldn't help. Two I feel like if I explained what happened they would say something like "Well the printer was working fine until you got malware and did a system restore. Clearly its something you did wrong and its unrelated to our software". But I guess I probably should contact them just to see if they can offer any assistance. When I click to expand it it seems "spoolsv.exe" is the culprit.I've looked up spoolsv.exe and it seems like this error pops up when you have printer problems, it has stuff inqueue and it won't work or something.Anyways, I don't have a printer hooked up to my computer. I've also disabled and removed all printer software that I could find. I'm still getting this error.I've searched my computer with microsoft security essential and Malwarebytes. Both say my computer is fine. When I restart my computer the error stops popping up for a few days or maybe longer but it keeps on coming back.I have 2 spoolsv.exe files. One in "C:\Windows\System
