At start up, enter the set up (usually press F1, F2 or Del during POST) and see if the drive is identified in the BIOS. If it's not, chances are that the drive is dead (assuming that nothing else has changed). Is it under warranty? If not then you should definitely replace the drive ASAP and hold on to it so you can try and recover the data off of it with software. computer has been recently becoming extremely slow, and one day I sprayed air on it, to get rid of dust and dirt, and now my Dell Latitude D510 will not entirely start back up. It will show the Dell loading screen, then will say:"Internal HDD HARD error!\015\012 Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to rune the setup utility."\015\012\015\012if I hit F1, it says:\015\012"No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility"\015\012\015\012at the setup utility, in "Device Info," under "System," it says:\015\012"Primary Hard Drive = {none}"\015\012\015\012\015\012\015\012(also, when I was cleaning the computer with the air, I had taken off a few of the covers on the bottom of the computer, sprayed in them, and put them back on).\015 Answers : By your description it is very likely your hard drive finally failed. You probably looking at total data loss unless you have made recently an backup of it. You will have to get a new HD and then you can install your OS and software.Another more remote possibility is that when you opened some covers, you accidentally disturbed the HD connection causing this problem.Just for clarification, was there a lot of dust inside ?Hope this helps.
