Also when running from my web host, it shows a 500 Internal 500 internal server error codeigniter ajax Server Error. I run the site from http://localhost/myproj It works. Then when I try to go to the admin page which is at http://localhost/myproj/administrator, it gives a 500 Internal Server Error. I read here that this might be due to a wrong code in the .htaccess file. This is my present .htaccess file RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.+)/$ $1 [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^system.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] # Without mod_rewrite, route 404's to the front controller ErrorDocument 404 /index.php Please help me. I am using CI 2.2.0 and looking http://forum.codeigniter.com/thread-1177.html forward to 3.0. I have been testing in a localhost environment and have just moved https://asdqwe.net/blog/solutions-500-internal-server-error-php/ everything to http://www.ccscdev.com which is hosted by NetworkSolutions. I think I have resolved the database.php parameters, etc. I am using ion_auth as my login so the url will specifiy http://www.ccscdev.com/auth/login which I think is correct. FTP'd the MySQL database. For some reason the database was loaded as MYISAM vs INNODB and I do not know if that will be an issue internal server as ion_auth uses foreign_keys. When I try to load http://www.ccscdev.com I receive a 500 Internal Server Error with no indication where, etc. My problem is I have no idea where to start!! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Code:
Yes, it's working!
Can you then go to http://www.ccscdev.com/check.html and see the page? You will probably still get the 500 error, and then you can submit the problem via a support ticket. I don't think it's something you can fix on your end. Hey, don't work without a PHP debugger. Several free IDEs have this features built in. Two are NetBeans and CodeLobster. Without a debugger, it's like you're driving with a blindfold on -- you are going to crash! My problem is hard to diagnose because there is a quick error message than the 500 error screen. I have turned on error logging in the config file but no errors show up. Network Solutions directory structure for http://www.ccscdev.com is directory htdocs and under that directory is index.php and the directories application and system, etc. I am having problems setting up the $config['base_url'] = '?????'; in the config.php file. My best guess at this time is the
Error is one of the common PHP errors that can put a PHP developer in panic mode. This article provides information on the most common causes. Why it become common PHP errors ? because you will found this error in WordPress, Prestashop, Codeigniter, Java, ASP.NET or whatever. 500 Internal Server Error is not a client side problem. It's up to the sysadmin of the Web server site to locate and analyse the logs which should give further information about the error. Based on Wikipedia, 500 Internal Server Error is A generic error message, given when an unexpected condition was encountered and no more specific message is suitable. Here are several common ways that you might see the HTTP 500 error: "500 Internal Server Error" "HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error" "Temporary Error (500)" "Internal Server Error" "HTTP 500 Internal Error" "500 Error" "HTTP Error 500" "500. That's an error" HOW TO FIX THE 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR CHECK YOUR SERVER ERROR LOGS With any error message, particularly one as broad as the 500 Internal Server Error, you will first want to check any Apache and PHP error logs for your server. These logs can provide valuable context related to any code failures or other potential causes of a site failure. ERROR WITH AN .HTACCESS FILE If you are using a .htaccess on your site, it may be interfering with the web page you are trying to load into your browser. Please double check the .htaccess configuration. Any syntax errors will cause a 500 Internal Server Error message to be displayed instead of your website. To confirm whether a misconfiguration .htaccess is the cause of the 500 Internal Server error, either remove or rename the .htaccess file temporarily and then try to reload the page. If your PHP script makes external network connections, the connections may time out. If too many connections are attempted and time out, this will cause a "500 Internal Server Error." To prevent these time outs and errors, you'll want to make sure that PHP scripts be coded with some timeout rules. Typically, however, catching a timeout error when connecting to a database or externally to remote resources (example: RSS feeds) are difficult. They, in effect, freeze the script from continuing to run. Removing any external connections can increase both the performance of your website and decrease the chances of you receiving a "500 Internal Server Error." SYNTAX OR CODING ERRORS IN YOUR CGI/PERL
