If the ColdFusion service runs as administrator or system account, the update itself install the VC++ runtime as this account would have installation privileges. If your ColdFusion service

account is not running as administrator or system account, applying the hotfix from administrator can't install VC++ runtime and you will get "500 internal server error" after configuring the connector. In this case, you need to manually install VC++ runtime 2012 32-bit and/or 64 bit depending on whether Web server is 32-bit or 64-bit. You can download enable http status codes coldfusion VC++ runtime here at: http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=30679 When you install hotfix manually, administrator privileges are enforced and so the installation of VC++ runtime is automatically taken care by the updater. Are you telling me the whole QA team at Adobe are running their ColdFusion servers *as administrator" ?!? In direct conflict with their own guide ? pages, such as a the Countries admin page for all states in the US, or other forms with more than 100 inputs, a generic server "500 error" is returned. cfmhandler 0x800700c1 Alternately some servers may show the message "POST parameters exceeds the maximum limit" with 500 internal server error iis an "HTTP Status 400″ error. Cause: The default value in the CF admin is 100 inputs. This includes checkboxes (when coldfusion 10 http error 500.0 internal server error checked) , text inputs, textarea inputs and any other form field elements. A recent security update for ColdFusion adds an additional setting and resets the value back to 100. So, even on servers where http://blogs.coldfusion.com/post.cfm/resolving-500-internal-server-error-with-coldfusion-10-update-14 this value was previously raised, the limit has likely been set back to 100. (You can verify this is the issue by attempting to save a form with less inputs , such as a country with very few or no states. If you don't get the error there, but the same page with a larger list of states throws the error, you can be sure this is the problem.) http://blog.cartweaver.com/coldfusion-post-size-limit-causes-400-or-500-error-on-large-forms/ Solution: raise the setting to a higher number, to allow more fields to be posted. This is done by adding or changing a specific setting in one of the CF configuration files, neo-runtime.xml, and then restarting the CF server. See this article from Adobe for an explanation http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/release-note/coldfusion-9-0-update-2.html or run a web search for "ColdFusion post size limit" to find many blog posts and related information. I have an application that submits a form, and upon submit gets the 500 Internal Server Error page. I have checked the logs and nothing internal server error is logged there. I have heard about the issue with submitting over 100 form fields, but my form submits 64, max. I have Enable Robust Exception Information checked with my IP address added and HTTP status codes unchecked. I can see all the debugging information on all pages up to the error page. I have output to a file all the information the page puts into the form fields and created a page with just those form fields and those values and it submits fine. I have been stuck on this for a week now. I don't know anything else to try. Any suggestions??? Please!!!! be down. Please try the request again. Your cache administrator is webmaster.
