1:13 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Tom, Have you tried refreshing the rights of the Users PERSONAL OBJECT in "Mailbox Rights". Locate the User by last name, under Mailbox rights in AD; check the Change permission - UNCHECK Read & Full; Click Apply; then UNCHECK Change and RECHECK Read & Full; Click Apply. This "refreshes" the Users personal object rights. If that doesn't work, try this. Under the Users mailbox rights; see if the SELF object is listed; if not ADD the SELF account and CHECK Read & Full; Click Apply. Let me know how that turns out - Tuesday, March 06, 2007 8:32 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Encountered this problem as well... Your suggestion for refreshing the personal object rights did the trick. Thank you. TT Friday, March 09, 2007 6:57 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote This worked. Thank you very much. I used the internet connection wizard to set up the OWA interface as suggested and it worked http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/http-500-error-with-owa-on-exchange-2003-windows-server-2003-sp2-for-sbs/ internally for a while. It has since stopped working correctly.Currently, users can reach the web interface but as soon as you try to log in, the server throws a HTTP 500 error. I can't find any other resources to help with this and we're really looking to resolve the issue soon. Does anyone have a solution? All the Exchange 2003 services start fine. This is our setup: We have 1 Exchange 2003 Server installed as internal server Front End with SSL Certificate. We have another Exchange Server Back End in a Cluster with all the mailboxes/Public Folders on the backend server. All are running on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP1. Exchanger Servers have SP2. OWA works fine on the backend servers no problem. We get the SSL login prompt ok, but then get the "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error". We downloaded and performed every step in the MS KB Article 823159 which addresses this issue but internal server error nothing has resolved the problem. We've read almost every post on this problem and cant seem to figure it out. I unmounted the mailboxes and remounted. There is no DMZ, everything is on the same network and subnet and pingable. Remember backends are on a clustrer. Any suggestions Please? THANKS! In this scenario, when a user tries to access a mailbox by using Outlook Web Access, HTTP requests into the clustering API by impersonating the logged-on user. However, there have been security changes in Windows Server 2003 SP1. The security restrictions for the APIs that perform remote registry access have been changed. Therefore, the logon attempt is not successful. ============================================= did you guys applied the patch???? 2003 SP2 with roughly 20 users. Recently I noticed that one user can not use his email on his iPhone. I have checked with other iPhones, it's not the phone. He can sometimes use OWA via a web browser, but then other times receives the HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error. He has never been able to get the account to retrieve email on his iPhone. It has to be a server issue. I detached the account from the mailbox and reattached it, completely deleted his account and mailbox reinstalled it and still no luck. I have restarted IIS, restarted the Exchange System Attendant, restarted the server completely and a few other steps I can't remember right now. Long story short, I have done everything I can think of and need some help. Every other user is fine, it's just this user. Yes the setting are correct on the iPhone (You can verify the account information, its just when you go to check the mail the "Cannot Get Mail Connection to Server Failed Error". PLEASE HELP! June 7th, 2012 1:02am The '500 internal server error' message is one of the least helpful you'll encounter - it just means 'oops, something broke at the server end'. If it is something that IIS can figure out, it will give some more details when you are using OWA. More usually, you will need to check the Event Logs, and see if something is logged there at the time the user encounters the problem - even then, you will not always find anything more specific to help you get started.Mobile OWA For Smartphone www.leederbyshire.com email a@t leederbyshire d.0.t c.0.m Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now June 7th, 2012 8:39am The '500 internal server error' message is one of the least helpful you'll encounter - it just means 'oops, something broke at the server end'.
