But as soon as I create an ASP page and saved in www.root folder,HTTP500 Internal Server Error Page cannot displaycomes out in Internet Explorer. When I double clicked the iisstart.asp file in the www.root folder, It opens up with the Dreamweaver and saying as follows. This should make them a little more helpful:) –Hank Jan 21 '13 at 10:14 2 Also > Default Web Site —> Click Error Pages properties and select Detail errors –Hank Jan 21 '13 at 10:16 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote If you have tried the methods above to see what kind of error you are getting and it is buffer related, then you need to increase the response buffer limit. in IIS 7, click on the website, click on ASP, click on limits properties, increase the response buffer limit and script time-out limit as well. Hope this helps. share|improve this answer answered Jan 23 '13 at 19:01 Hamada 1218 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft disc

I have deployed the site to IIS, but when visiting it with the browser, it shows me this: Server Error 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. After fiddling around with the web.config, I now get: The internal server error page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred. With the detailed error, you can locate the real issue here. Also, if you can run the browser on the server, you get details on the error, because the server recognizes that you are local and shows it to you. Or if you can read the log of the server using the Event Viewer, you also see the details of your error. On IIS 6

However; there is nothing showing up in the Application Event Log where I would expect to see a (more) detailed description of the entry. How can I go about diagnosing this issue? iis-7.5 windows-event-log 500-error asp.net-mvc share|improve this question edited Jul 16 '12 at 7:55 asked Jul 15 '12 at 21:25 Greg B 4893825 I've had the exact same issue here. In my experience, if the event log is empty than the request wasn't correctly routed to the worker process. In one of our recent deployments we saw the app work intermittently with about 50% of the requests randomly failing with the 500 error and nothing in the logs. I suspect something is going wrong with the AppDomain unload that occurs after deployment. Out of curiosity, are you running antivirus in your production environment? Does an IIS reset solve the issue (until the next deployment)? –ShadowChaser Feb 21 '13 at 16:17 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 23 down vote accepted Take a look at IIS7's Failed Request Tracing feature: Troubleshooting Failed Requests Using Tracing in IIS 7 Troubleshoot with Failed Request Tracing The other thing I would do is t
