How can I go about diagnosing this issue? iis-7.5 windows-event-log 500-error asp.net-mvc share|improve this question edited Jul 16 '12 at 7:55 asked Jul 15 '12 at 21:25 Greg B 4893825 I've had the exact same issue here. In my experience, if the event log is empty than the request wasn't correctly routed to the worker process. In one of our recent deployments we saw the app work intermittently with about 50% of the requests randomly failing with the 500 error and nothing in the logs. I suspect something is going wrong with the AppDomain unload that occurs after deployment. Out of curiosity, are you running antivirus in your production environment? Does an IIS reset solve the issue (until the next deployment)? –ShadowChaser Feb 21 '13 at 16:17 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 23 down vote accepted Take a look at IIS7's Failed Request Tracing feature: Troubleshooting Failed Requests Using Tracing in IIS 7 Troubleshoot with Failed Request Tracing The other thing I would do is tweak your 360 games PC games https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/942031 Windows games Windows phone games Entertainment All Entertainment http://support.clickhome.com.au/support/solutions/articles/106405-how-to-solve-500-internal-server-error-on-iis-for-windows-server-2008-r2 Movies & TV Music Business & Education Business Students & educators Developers Sale Sale Find a store Gift cards Products Software & services Windows Office Free downloads & security Internet internal server Explorer Microsoft Edge Skype OneNote OneDrive Microsoft Health MSN Bing Microsoft Groove Microsoft Movies & TV Devices & Xbox All Microsoft devices Microsoft Surface All Windows PCs & tablets PC accessories Xbox & games Microsoft Lumia All internal server error Windows phones Microsoft HoloLens For business Cloud Platform Microsoft Azure Microsoft Dynamics Windows for business Office for business Skype for business Surface for business Enterprise solutions Small business solutions Find a solutions provider Volume Licensing For developers & IT pros Develop Windows apps Microsoft Azure MSDN TechNet Visual Studio For students & educators Office for students OneNote in classroom Shop PCs & tablets perfect for students Microsoft in Education Support Sign in Cart Cart Javascript is disabled Please enable javascript and refresh the page Cookies are disabled Please enable cookies and refresh the page CV: {{ getCv() }} English (United States) Terms of use Privacy & cookies Trademarks © 2016 Microsoft to solve 500 - Internal Server Error on IIS for Windows Server 2008 R2 Modified on: Sat, 19 Mar, 2016 at 9:25 PM http://blogs.charteris.com/blogs/ivorb/archive/2010/07/15/installing-net-1-1-applications-on-windows-server-2008-r2.aspx If there are discrepancies – Notify the client and request that they make the necessary configuration changes.
