You Don't Have Permission To Access /nagios/ On This Server.
I installed Nagios 3.3.1 + Plugins 1.4.15 by using an Ubuntu 10.04 (Plesk) / vServer. Now it is not possible to Access the Webinterface correctly, because the following ErrorMessage is reported: Internal Server Error- The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/nagios-internal-server-error-903798/ and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error. You can see the error-logs and configuration-files as attachments to this question. All error-reported files / folders (> logs) are generated and I also can´t find misconfiguratated rights to these files / folders. Any support for setting-up this system would be very nice because it is urgently needed for international fundraising (> non-profit organization) !!! Perhaps somebody can inform me, what rights with https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/193738-nagios-reports-internal-server-error-webinterface-not-accessable which nagios config-files / - folders I will have to use exactly (0666? which owner? ...?). phpmyadmin, and nagios3 packages (with dependencies) through apt-get. phpmyadmin and cacti work great, but on login to nagios3 I get "500 Internal Server Error", and can't get it to reprompt me for credentials. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nagios3/+question/51924 The username/password I'm using are the ones I set up during install. Basically, I'm stumped. All the directories referred to in /etc/apache2/conf.d/nagios exist with what look like perfectly acceptable permissions (owned by user and group nagios with read permissons for all users). Am I authenticating wrong? Is something missing? Could a more useful error be generated? The only mention of that error I can find with internal server the word "ubuntu" is in some document at scribd.com that never actually loads, so I'm stumped. The default htpasswd file is /etc/nagios2/htpasswd.users, which does not exist upon installation. " cd /etc/nagios2/ sudo htpasswd -c htpasswd.users nagiosadmin Maybe you need to create that file? I'd recommend reading the rest of that doc. I don't know how much has changed between Nagios 2 and 3, though. Hope it helps. Inigo (ubuntu-inigosoto) said on 2009-04-22: #3 I had the same problem as Kevin L. Nault, and Omegamormegil's solution worked just fine for Nagios 3. Looking at the apache log hinted that the password file wasn't being found Thanks! Kevin L.
