1 year, 8 months ago Hi I'm using version 4.1 of wordpress on http://www.escapandodelsistema.com/grupo and when i activate the plugin BuddyPress version 2.2.0 the system its giving me the 500 internal server error. This is a list of the plugins that i have installed: Add From Server Version 3.2.0.3 | By Dion Hulse Akismet Version 3.0.4 | By Automattic CookieMonster Version 1.3 | By gsmith Jetpack by WordPress.com Version 3.3.1 | By Automattic Lightweight Social Icons Version 0.2 | By Thomas Usborne MOJO Marketplace Version 0.6.0 | By Mike Hansen OptimizeMember Version 1.1.1 | By OptimizePress OptimizePress Version 2.3.4.3 | By OptimizePress TinyMCE Advanced Version 4.1.7 | By Andrew Ozz W3 Total Cache Version 0.9.4.1 | By Frederick Townes WordPress SEO Version 1.7.1 | By Team Yoast I really need to install BuddyPress but i'm not able to find the problem can someone please help me with this? Open your site in a new tab, it works… then go to your first tab and enable your first plugin "Add From Server" - then go to your other open tab, refresh page.. do this for each plugin until you find the one that is causing the 500 error. you may find it is one plugin that is the issue, or you may find that it is a combo of three plugins that cause the problem. Odds are you are going to have to hunt down the other problem plugin author for help. EscapandoDelSistemaParticipant @escapandodelsistema 1 year, 8 months a

Here are a few follow up questions for you. How did you try to install buddypress, exactly? Did you add the plugin from wp-admin or by uploading to the plugins directory via ftp? Were you https://buddypress.org/support/topic/http-500-internal-server-error/ able to activate the buddypress plugin? i.e., when you say you just "tried to install" it, is that because it gave some error directly (and therefore you never saw buddypress in action at all or altered the default settings), or because you haven't been able to log into wordpress since then? Hopefully with some more details, one of the generous wp/bp gurus on here will be able to sort you out. Nikki WithrowParticipant @nwithrow 6 years, 2 months ago thanks, i just did it through the wordpress admin screen - add plugin. right after i pressed download for the buddpress plugin, i started getting the error. i'm at a loss and hope some guru can help ((please!)) yes, that please was with hugs! lol! seriously though, i need help. thanks so much! PisanojmParticipant @pisanojm 6 years, 2 months ago If you simply downloaded and installed buddypress via admin screen… to get back to your "regular" site…you'll need to go in to your site via FTP (or server backend like cpanel) and delete the entire "buddypress" plugin. This would be in the xxx/wp-content/plugins/BUDDYPRESS Select the buddypress folder a

I just set up a new BP install there. Edit - Deactivate plugins via FTP by renaming plugin folder and change automatically to Twenty Eleven by renaming the folder of the theme you were using when you activated BuddyPress. jetgirlartMember @jetgirlart 4 years, 6 months ago yep internal server error still at ix but a proper linux server this time , giving it a shot right now jetgirlartMember @jetgirlart 4 years, 6 months ago still got the error but instead of the /wp-admin/plugins blah blah blah being shown in the 500 error its the index itself The website encountered an error while retrieving http://huntinginsider.com/wp-admin/index.php. The wp-admin/index.php correctly redirects to wp-login.php when I checked. tedzzMember @tedzz 4 years, 6 months ago May I ask how did you resolve the issue? I'm on the same hosting with same problem jetgirlartMember @jetgirlart 4 years, 6 months ago Ah yeah, I got rid of buddypress from my ftp. 4 years, 2 months ago Hello, I've spent the last 2 hours reading through all the documentation I can find on this error but have not found any resolution. PROBLEM > After installing bbPress from the WordPress plugins menu, I get a 500> Internal Server Error for mysite.com/wp-admin/ If I rename the bbPress folder to bbpress-bak in wp-content/plugins then the error goes away, but I can't activate bbPress with the folder name changed. Permissions for bbPress are set to 755 and all php files are at 644. I tried deleting the .htaccess file but it didn't do anything. I'd love to use bbPress with my WordPress install, but can't get it working because of this error. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!-Nick Viewing 3 replies - 1 through 3 (of 3 total) Stephen EdgarModerator @netweb 4 years, 2 months ago If you disable ALL your other WordPress plugins then activate bbPress do you still the 500 error? John James JacobyKeymaster @johnjamesjacoby 4 years, 2 months ago That's pretty odd. Do you have server specs you can share? PHP version, available memory, apache/nginx, etc…? nickritcheyMember @nickritchey 4 years, 2 months ago I disabled all of the plugins and thought it was W3 Total Cache at first, but then I ended up with other errors. I disabled all caching and it was still broken. I addressed each problem individually, and after a few hours of trying different things, I changed memory_limit = 62M ; to memory_limit = 128M ; in php.ini in my root folder and re-enabled the W3 Total Caching. That seemed to fix the problem. Resolved! Thanks for your help! Viewing 3 replies - 1 through 3 (of 3 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
