Drupal 500 Internal Server Error After Update
ultimate shared hosting on linux. I have the same code base on both these places. But the production drupal http error 500 site is throwing internal server error 500 from the past 3 days. I have the login destination and front page modules installed and this 500 error happens only when users login

and being redirected to a different landing page. I set up such that anonymous users go to http://www.mydomain.com/publics and when logged in on this page, they get redirected to http://www.mydomain.com/landing. This setup works perfectly fine on the dev site, but in production, I am getting the 500 error when the redirect to landing happens. Once this error is thrown, if I drupal 8 500 internal server error just type any other url of the site, I am getting to those pages fine. The only difference between the dev and production site is the data in the DB. Both the sites were working fine for many months now and this 500 error has been happening since last 3 days only. Obviously, the godaddy tech support is of no help. THey just said they did some apache update on all servers 3 days ago and have been adamant that it has nothing to do with my issue, but the timing of when my issue started is so close to this update. They are suggesting I move the site to a different server to test. I am a bit nervous about this and don't want to lose any prod data. So far I have disabled fast cgi and increased the php execution time limit to 3000. None of these seem to help. I am getting frustrated with this. Anybody else have this issue? PLEASE HELP. Drupal 8 Internal Server Error
since moving to a new hosting company (GoDaddy) I'm getting occasional internal server errors (500) as I move around within drupal 8 500 error the site doing tasks. It is always transitory, as - whenever it occurs - if I simply repeat whatever it was I did things are fine. I've setup the PERFORMANCE section of Drupal to optimize https://www.drupal.org/node/1309616 things as much as I can, and there are minimal people on the site at the time these errors occur. Beginning to think it is some sort of slow server response problem like what I've run into with other hosting companies in the past. Is the only effective way to run a Drupal install is through a VPS type account? Those are quite a bit more expensive than shared https://www.drupal.org/node/569402 hosting, but that seems to be the only alternative to long term happiness! Rather frustrated on this as I certainly don't have the budget to do lots of trial and error testing with hosting company after hosting company to find one that works as it should... You never know exactly how many othe rsites are on the server. What resources are being used. The list goes on. If you have a lot of modules (no we can't tell you what a lot is, it's subjective) you may be running into processor timeouts on the host. You need to see what tools are available from your host to track down those sorts of issues. Since it's a new install, I'm going to kil and start over tomorrow with the fewest possible modules to get to job done. It was just perf

Last updated: June 3 2016 As a quick note here today, I just switched some of my http://alvinalexander.com/drupal/drupal-godaddy-500-internal-server-error-4gh-ultimate-hosting domains to fall under a GoDaddy "ultimate hosting" plan, where you pay for one shared server, and then you can put all your domains under that one shared server account. (At this point I can say that this saves money, but the GoDaddy 4GH performance is horrible.) When I did this with one of my domains, AlaskaSquirrel.com, the front page of the website came up okay, but any other page on this Drupal internal server website returned an Internal server error (seen in my web browser as a "500 Internal server error"). Fixing the Drupal GoDaddy 500 internal server error After some digging around, the solution to this 500 error is to fix one setting in your Drupal .htaccess file. You just need to add (or uncomment) this line in your .htaccess file: RewriteBase / This has to do with the fact that internal server error Drupal is no longer running in the root directory of your website directory structure, but is now running in a folder underneath your main/root directory. You should find this setting near the bottom of your Drupal .htaccess file, and all you have to do is remove the comment tag '#' before that line to enable this setting. GoDaddy file system flushing problems Also, it's important to note that on some occasions the GoDaddy file system doesn't pick up this change right away. I have no idea how the GoDaddy filesystem works, but on several occasions lately I've seen that changes aren't getting written to the filesystem immediately. If this happens you can either try to wait, or keep changing the file until it finally gets written to the disk. (For instance, on a recent PHP script I wasn't seeing my logging output right away, and had to wait nearly a minute to see what my script was writing. I finally added a fflush() function call to my script to try to force the filesystem to flush the output.) More on the Apache RewriteBase statement As a final note, the Drupal .htaccess file comments describe the Apache RewriteBase statement, so if you're interested in why this command is necessary, her
