when logging into WP-Admin Internal Server Error when logging into WP-Admin Redknightrob @redknightrob 6 months, 2 weeks ago Apologies for starting another thread with this title and on this subject, but I've run into a bit of a brick wall with the https://wordpress.org/support/topic/internal-server-error-when-logging-into-wp-admin/ site I am administering (www.claritycareconsulting.co.uk). In the past when I have encountered this issue http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/wp-fixing-500-internal-server-error I have followed other forum advice which is usually to delete the latest plug-ins installed until you can get back in, but I have tried that without success. I've also tried changing the name of the theme file but that didn't seem to work and I have also tried changing the .htaccess file name, to internal server no avail, although it did take down the site so I put it back quickly. I worried about doing anything more without damaging the site (it is at least still running at the moment so any advice would be gratefully received. I am able to ftp to the server and have found the error log and access log in the /logfiles folder. Although not exactly sure how to read them, I have downloaded them and used notepad to open the error log. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). - If you can't get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
