Mar 31, 2016 10:08 PM|Marco28it|LINK Hi All I have a really weird issue on my Windows 10 Home IIS https://www.reddit.com/r/24hoursupport/comments/41c1jl/the_page_cannot_be_displayed_because_an_internal/ 10 installation. I have a normal html website. However when I load the page direct from the 'server' or from another computer on my LAN I always first get"The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.". Then on Refresh I get the html page as expected. It goes well for a while then until some sort of timeout like 30 minutes?, and then I first get the error again. Every google help I https://forums.iis.net/t/1230509.aspx?+The+page+cannot+be+displayed+because+an+internal+server+error+has+occurred+when+adding+web+config can see, suggests to add debug settings to the web.config. But I have no web.config and as soon as I do create a web.config file in the directory, and I do a restart in IIS on the site, the site *ALWAYS* gives the error"The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.". The content of the web.config cannot be incorrect due to me mistyping as i also tried when 'generated' by iis itself when setting error page feature setting to detailed errors. Please help! But when I've deployed it on live server, I got the following error: "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error internal server error has occurred" Nothing else. Using the same IIS 7 on live and also set to have Detailed errors in Error Pages module, but still getting the same. What can be a reason? Thanks c# asp.net asp.net-mvc iis internal-server-error share|improve this question edited Jun 9 '15 at 11:54 Spider man 1,63721433 asked Jun 9 '15 at 11:45 rhytmer 76117 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 10 down vote I just got this error and it was caused by a duplicate static content MIME type in the web.config This error was being returned only on static files - eg images, css, js files were all saying this error (text by itself, no other html or text in the response). The way to debug this is to look in web config under static content. Here we have a json file extension loaded. This was required on IIS7 but will kill the app if used on IIS8 because json is now pre-loaded at the server level. However; there is nothing showing up in the Application Event Log where I would expect to see a (more) detailed description of the entry. How can I go about diagnosing this issue? iis-7.5 windows-event-log 500-error asp.net-mvc share|improve this question edited Jul 16 '12 at 7:55 asked Jul 15 '12 at 21:25 Greg B 4893825 I've had the exact same issue here. In my experience, if the event log is empty than the request wasn't correctly routed to the worker process. In one of our recent deployments we saw the app work intermittently with about 50% of the requests randomly failing with the 500 error and nothing in the logs. I suspect something is going wrong with the AppDomain unload that occurs after deployment. Out of curiosity, are you running antivirus in your production environment? Does an IIS reset solve the issue (until the next deployment)? –ShadowChaser Feb 21 '13 at 16:17 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 23 down vote accepted Take a look at IIS7's Failed Request Tracing feature: Troubleshooting Failed Requests Using Tracing in IIS 7 Troubleshoot with Failed Request Tra
