However after i tried all recommendations and possible solutions, i still have the problem.1 ISA 2K4 std with 4 NIC. The external NIC has about 40 public IP adresses. The Exchange 2k3 server is on the internal LAN.The OWA sites are on the Exchange server http://forums.isaserver.org/Error_Code%3A_500_Internal_Server_Error%25_The_target_principal_name_is_incorrect/m_230059800/tm.htm and they have different internal IP adresses. They have different certs obtained from the internal Cert authority.I exported the certs and imported them on the ISA as described in an article published by Thomas Shinder. Any ideas? All three OWA sites behave in the same way although they have different certs. The ISA2k4 is a member of the domain. I also tried to edit the hosts file on the ISA. e.g.:172.26.113.84 webmail.internal.net. the web listener on the ISA uses these certs. I'm running Exchange 2007 and ISA 2006. I've set up an environment with test.local as the internal DNS and test.com as the external with ISA 2006 with a single nic. This works fine. I used the following resource mostly: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/deployment/exchange.mspx My client though uses the SAME internal and external DNS name, for example test.com - so the internal server name would be ex01.test.com and the external registered public url would be owa.test.com. When I tried to get it working in the clients site using the same instructions I've hit a wall - i.e. the following error: Error Code: 500 Internal Server Error. The target principal name is incorrect. (-2146893022) I've recreated this in my lab. I've edited the Hosts file on the ISA server and put in a static entry for owa.test.com to point to the IP of the Exchange server. I've rechecked the Root cert is added correctly on the ISA Server that it's imported Web Server cert and private key are located in the machine store fine. The main difference is the DNS setup. All suggestions welcome ! When I changed it to owa.test.com and then added "ex01.test.com" into the "Computer name or IP address (required if the intern
